My final points on the Bush twins (the other thread is taking 2-3
Edited on Tue Aug-31-04 08:52 PM by Walt Whitman
minutes to load, I apologize to everyone I didn't reply to.)

1. If the Bush twins had the freedom to denounce their father, and I'm not at all convinced that they do, exactly where would they run to? To us? To Democrats, to the "progressive" party that uses sexist, mysogynistic, disgusting language about them? That calls them ho-bags, skanks, sluts, and worse?

2. The Bush twins are totally ineffectual as campaigners. The idea that anyone here really believes they're helping his campaign is just hysterical. DUers are smarter than that. That's a convenient excuse to use more mysogynistic language.

3. Either Bush is a liar, or he isn't. This phony family-love spin story that they wanted to help their Daddy came straight from the Bush camp. If he's telling the truth about that, we can't automatically call him a liar on all other issues. If he's telling the truth about that, what else is he telling the truth about?

4. The hatred and extremism in our party about these two young women is far more damaging to our side than they could ever be.

5. MOST undecided voters are women. The high levels of sexism and mysogyny we Democrats use in discussing conservative women, but especially the Bush twins, will not endear us to them.

Thank you and goodnight.

Dawn

2. You should only do so if you can't combat her ideas. Resorting to that
makes you look reactionary and childish. And sexist.

5. I'm sorry; I honestly couldn't tell.
After all the ho-bag and skank and "who cares? She swallows!" posts on the Bush twins today, I'm afraid I'm taking all such posts seriously.

I apologize to whoever that was (the screennames are all running around in my head, too, sigh.)
