1. Leave the kids out of it.
It was tacky when the conservatives would make fun of Chelica, and it's still tacky when you go after the Bush twins.

9. I don't think either of them is over 21.
But I don't know. Frankly I could care less about them. I'm amazed so many DUers are watching the convention.

Go read a book!

And the twins are now adults, out of college, and campaigning. They're fair game.

7. It's also tack yfor them to make fun of Kerry's girls...
Who as we all know did not say one word about the Bush girl's...

Do you still believe them to be untouchable now that they have shown their true colors in the political arena for all the world to see?

And I am a mother of two young girls as well as two young sons. I would have been horrified to have my girls act like that on such a stage...

Nor would they have..

21. That's it! If they can talk about the Kerry Ladies
Edited on Tue Aug-31-04 09:39 PM by goclark
my impressions of them are still firm.

They are spoiled brats that lie just like their father and their grandfather.

They got there impulsiveness from their grand mother Babs.

Family Values down the tubes as far as I am concerned.

12. they are speaking at the convention
I agree that to criticize their looks like Rush did to Chelsea would be low. However, I think their convention speeches are fair game.

I had to leave the room, because I was so embarrassed for them. They tried so hard to be funny, but fell flat. They may well have some good qualities, but I think they inherited the public speaking ability from Dad. The whole thing was painful.

19. When I was a "kid" their age
I had put myself through college and was working full time and supporting myself.

I guess that "Bushies" remain "kids" and get drunk every night and let daddy bail them out of all their financial failures until they are 40 and realize its time to sober up and enter politics.

17. how weird
it's like he's turning 50 and they're having the "old buzzard" party.

Did anyone else think back Barak Obama's speech when Arnold was talking about being a scrawny kid in Austria? I was thinking if he stole his line about a skinny kid with a funny name growing up to the governor of California, that would be brilliant! No? OK just me then.

33. I don't think he was trying to do that at all
It wasn't really very close to what Obama said but close enough to make me think it would have been pretty crazy if he would have stole his line.

... it gets applause from your side and can only hurt you everywhere else. not exactly a cheap laugh, when you really evaluate it.

23. Where's The Beef at this convention?????
Has there been any substance presented yet? From the Saturday Night Live -like intro, to McCain trashing 911, to Giuliani exploiting the Twin Towers disaster, to Arnold mainly blowing his own horn and telling us what a great immigrant he is and how loveable he is, to the Twins trying to crack what must go for jokes in Holy Roller land, to Barbara telling us what a warm little Chimp she's married to........where's the agenda? Where's any talk about the future? Where's the plan for America? Where is any bit of substance whatsoever about what the Republican Party has accomplished and what they feel they can accomplish?

Honestly, this has been the most blatantly all sizzle, no steak convention I have ever seen. Can anyone point out a single concise point any speaker has made so far about Bush's alleged achievements and, especially, what he plans to do to turn around the economy, get us out of Iraq, improve education, solve health care's rising costs, address the environment, and stave off the impending disaster with Social Security???????????????????????????
