The Media just loves Ahhhhhnold
"A heartfelt, effective speech," said CBS' News Dan Rather when Mrs. Bush was finished, then noted that her address followed "a barn-burner of a speech" from Schwarzenegger, who "slapped Democratic opponent Sen. John Kerry around like a hockey puck."

Over on ABC, correspondent Mark Halperin said of Schwarzenegger, "I mean no disrespect to the film classic 'Twins' or to 'Kindergarten Cop,' but I think he's already shown he's a better politician than he ever was an actor."

YAWN

1. Well...
...he was a REALLY shitty actor, so being a better politician isn't exactly high praise. The corpowhore media is so over the top in their bias it's laughable.

2. That was one of the worst speeches I've ever watched in my life.
He stunk the place up. Rather and company are clueless and gutless.

5. Its called being GORE'd
Wait until the debates start. Chimpy will be ripped to shreads and the media talking heads will say "What a performance by Bush" Mean while they will start tearing down his opponent.

These fuks are bought and paid for by big corporations and there isn't a damn thing we can do about it.

Rather broke down in tears but not before he confided that "Wherever he (Bush) wants me to line up, tell me where. He'll make the call."

Apparently he still takes marching orders.

Fucking hockey puck.

He was just called a 'pink republican'...a girlie man. Scarborough was totally encouraging it, and putting these words in the guys mouth.

Arnolds speech was not bad at all. The content was the expected throwaway patriotism garbage we all expected, but his delivery was far better than anyone who has spoken at the convention this week, which really isn't saying much considering how fucking awful Bill Frist, Ghouliani, and McCain were. Sure, his movie references and cutups were lame, but that is how Arnold is portrayed in all his movies: as a fish out of water who says silly things because he is outrageous no matter WHAT situation he is in. It was never truer than tonite.

Arnold succeeded in getting his, and the Republican message across: Blindly support Bush, because we say so. It won't help pull in any swing states, but their base will go even further red, if such a thing were possible.

8. The media
Edited on Tue Aug-31-04 11:27 PM by Frenchie4Clark
loves that Arnuld can pull in a large audience.

I dislike Arnuld and his wife. She's the real bitch. Sitting at the Pubs' convention....and says she's a Democrat.

Great that Kennedy is his "Uncle-in-law"......and the Kennedy's wing of the party is who is behind Kerry who made a big media blunder by ever even hinting at McCain to be VP on the ticket...and yes, the media loves McCain too. Looks like no degrees of separation, to me.
A great big Messopotemia!

SIMPLY MAAAARVALOUS!!

9. I like Arnold's political views, but damn his party alignment
Arnold's not that disagreeable at all on his issues. He's more of a Democrat than pukes like Zell Miller. But sadly, all the Repugs have to take the bullet for their idiot in chief.

12. Sadly, it's not just the media.
There are a lot of airheads in this country who love Ahhhhhnold too.

Celebrity has a way of making people lose their discernment.

15. Unfortunately a lot of DUers seem to love him too!
Argh, don't get me started on Arnold! I get so worked up on this issue. He's almost worse than Bush to me because so many liberals seem to think he's just peachy.

16. Ahrnold was rather good I thought, for a republican
He really woke up the RNC crowd and had them going. His was the best speech I have heard yet at the convention. HOWEVER, immediately after he left the podium, before the TV talking heads could comment on how good his speech was, the silly BUSH twins came out on stage. What a damper they were! The crowd practically groaned, quickly losing the enthusiasm that Ahrnold had given them.

I couldn't help thinking that even the RNC must have been shocked at how clueless these girls were. I only hope that some of them may begin to make the connection with their equally clueless father. Perhaps too much to expect of the RNC crowd, but I'm thinking that viewers of this show may have made the connection. Also I did not think that mother Laura was a very effective speaker.

With turncoat Zell Miller making the keynote speech Wednesday, and then Cheney and Bush having their turns, I don't see the republicans getting much of a bounce out of this convention.
