Laura Bush's speech tonight: "He didn't want to go to war."
I heard five seconds of Pickle's speech tonight on the news, and my husband's hearing may never be the same. I'm sure those in the next county heard me shrieking at the television as a result.

"Abraham Lincoln didn't want to go to war. Franklin Roosevelt didn't want to go to war. Neither did my husband."

I have one word for Laura: BULLSHIT!

Julie

4. Ummm, that's why he was...
... pumping his fist, strutting and declaring, "feel good" just before going before the nation to tell of the start of the invasion.

If she really believes what she's said, she's even dumber than Shrub.

34. That video definitely should be used in an ad.
Neither the DNC nor the Kerry campaign would have to pay to run it if the ad was "newsworthy" enough for it to get media coverage. Or MoveOn could run the ad.

10. The words that came to my mind were
1. LIAR

and

2. DENIAL

She's either too dumb to be allowed a driver's license OR she is lying on cue from 'Uncle Rover'

The very ideocy of comparing Lincoln and Roosevelt to Bush has caused my head to spin. Didn't she also compare Mandela's struggle to "Bush's cause" too? HOO BOY, I'll bet Mandela REALLY appreciated that!!

I have a bumper sticker that reads BUSH LIED. My next sticker will read either Laura Lied OR Laura is a Dunce

12. OK, Everybody
Take that exact quote and at the end say, yeah, Vietnam! just like you have suggested here. I sent one to the LA Times. I think a lot of papers would print them to show a great spin on what she really meant.
If the Kerry campaign won't hit back, let's do it ourselves.

15. I'm glad I'm not the only one who yells at the TV
Julie, Before DU, i used to get up Sunday mornings and scream and hiss and vent at the fool politicians and pundits. It's very hard to listen to their incessant bullshit.

And I just will not let myself watch Picklepuss. Seriously, we have to save our energy for the campaign and not waste it hyperventilating and raising our blood pressure. Or, take a zanax. All my Republican friends swear by them.

It is hard to not sneak a peek at what the fools are spewing next, but I just get so torqued I can't think straight....

or if I do, on EXTREMELY rare occasions, I do so w/ the sound off. (squatter is tolerable w/ the sound off). I'm afraid I would pick something up, throw it and then I'd have 2 buy a new TV.

I heard some of Pickles' speech on the radio this morning. I had to stop myself from really going off 'cause I'm at work. Yelling the TV is a great stress reliever. :-)

19. Can we get every Democrat to call Laura Bush a "liar"
every time her name comes up in conversation? Since this is such an obvious lie.

Sure, it won't be with 1/1000th the venom and ugliness that Republicans everywhere treated Hillary Clinton, but can we at least make a token effort?

20. oh, c'mon, Pickles. Lay off the margaritas and the Xanax.
The war he really didn't want to start was in Afghanistan, against Al Qaeda. It stood in the way of his Iraq war, which he planned from day one.

This chick will say anything they tell her to. Will she ever get a spine?

28. Tweety called her on it last night
Asked his panel about it..."I don't think W agonized over the decision...he installed his Daddy's entire war machine around him and was looking for a fight!"

It was brilliant, but brief. He went back to being a dick after that comment.

Bush grabbed Richard Clarke on 9-11 and told him "Get Iraq". Bush would use war to avenge his pappy. He wanted war in the worst way. He packed his administration with PNAC neo-cons.

30. Which war?
Lincoln served in the militia in the Indian wars. Maybe he didn't want to go? FDR had polio, a legitimate exemption.

Bush didn't want to go to war so he went AWOL.

But as for Iraq, that war was a done deal as soon as Bush was selected. He went there for turkey dinner.

33. Sounds familiar...
"I didn't want war...it was forced upon me"

Said HITLER

Fire at the 911.

Father/motherland

Patriot Act

Dissent = treason

concentration camps...death camps

invasions

All for self defense.

Now bushCartel are even using Hitler quotes. Surprise.

that Pickles has now made herself part of the debate, so let's take it to her.

>Now let's talk about Iraq.<

Definitely. If Laura Bush is such an expert on foreign policy, let's hope that the great Helen Thomas gets an opportunity to ask her a few questions.

I can only hope it's on live national television.
