Get tough John. Attack and get mean. These Neocon clowns deserve it.

1. I hope our next President...
Edited on Wed Sep-01-04 07:58 AM by liberalmuse
addresses the insult the purple bandages are to all war veterans and the 'economic girlie-man' comment. How many Americans are struggling to make ends meet right now? I read yesterday that 7,000 troops have been wounded in Iraq. Give 'em hell, Kerry! I've come to believe that Kerry is a very dignified man and that he will continue to stand tall above the fray while the 'pubs sink in the gutter by November.

PS--I hope Kerry does a Clinton and mentions a few 'economic girlie-men' by name. 'I recently met Walter. He's a Viet-Nam vet who doesn't have health insurance because the VA Hospital near him was closed. He lost his IT job last year. His wife has Parkinson's disease and he's working graveyards at Wal-Mart so he can afford her medication. According to the Republicans, he is an 'economic girlie-man'.

2. Let's put it this way
I think that a lot of Dems (top Dems, rank and file and big doners) are going to really watch this speech. If it's sort of the 'usual', I think Kerry will have trouble on his hands by the weekend. The media will be digging up all sorts of "mad, disgruntled" Dems stories to go along with the Kerry campaign re-doing. Kerry needs to bring the above mentioned supporters to their feet in this speech (screw the audience because they probably will try to screw him anyhow)and give the appearance that NOW I am going personally after Bush so that the news reports are "He's baaaaaack". It's all about playing the media whores and then the whores play the audience. This speech is going to be a real revalation of just how much this campaign has now responded to lots of rank and file concerns. That's why it's truly a 'make or break' speech right up there with the convention speech.

4. His honor is being mocked on national TV with purple band aids
And the honor of every man and woman that ever earned a purple star.

He should do something today that makes the media notice. A boilerplate speech will be ignored. Defend your honor. Rip their guts out.

5. I wish Kerry would say under Bush, if a soldier earns a purple heart
he will be given a bandaid. With the cuts to the military health-wise that is about all they will get.

6. Kerry should not respond to the band aids
it keeps Vietnam as the issue , which the republicans want.

7. Oh...I'd mention the band aids for sure.
In fact...I'd guess Rove is shitting just thinking about how bad that image of mocking those wounded in war is.

Then I would go into how the bastards are abusing the National Guard, the Reserves and their families. And how Bush won't go to funerals or allow caskets to be shown because Karl Rove has told him it will hurt his poll numbers.

Don't use the band aid stuff...RIGHT!

9. America 2001-2004 and beyond is the issue
not Cambodia 1969-1971.

Let's discuss issues in THIS century...since the Republican party CAN'T.

8. Gee, that would be disgraceful and awful....
Why not nominate Rush Limbaugh instead of Kerry, if attacks are what you want? He's about as good at it as it gets.

If the first two nights of this convention have shown America anything, it's that the Republicans HAVE NO PLAN. They hate Michael Moore, they hate wounded veterans, unemployed people are girlymen, the Tequila Twins are idiots, and one of the Congressmen trying to discriminate against gays turned out to be a cruising closet case.

That's it. That's the whole message of the convention so far.

They need John Kerry to stop laying out a vision for what this country is supposed to be and can be, and trade chippy charges...so then they can say, see, bush-bashing bush-bashing bush-bashing!

I hope he has a throwaway line about the bandaids...but I hope he stays on message, because it is driving wing nuts insane with rage.

11. Maybe a goodcop/badcop routine
Let Kerry stay above the fray but let surrogates do the attacking?
