Poll Numbers Prove Kerry is Doomed

(From the diaries. And I agree. Some people around here are out of control -- kos)
Yep. These polls numbers from the past week can't be argued with. Bush is way ahead:

Likely voters
Bush Kerry Date
ABC 49 49 8/29
Time 46 46 8/26
FOX 44 45 8/25
Gallup 50 47 8/25
NPR 45 50 8/24Ouch. Kerry's getting crushed. Check out the Registered Voters:
Registered Voters
Bush Kerry Date
ABC 48 49 8/29
Gallup 47 48 8/25
LA 49 46 8/24
CSM 44 44 8/23Finished. Finished I say. These numbers can only be read as spelling complete doom. A challenger tied with an incumbent under 50 in August? Puh-lease. How often does the challenger ever win in that situation? Like never (editors note--almost every single time). Stop giving money. This is a complete train wreck. The simple fact that Kerry was unable to permanently maintain his peak in the polls is proof that his campaign is doomed.
Oh wait--you are supposed to include Nader in a national poll for it to be accurate. I forgot. I mean, how could one argue that Nader shouldn't be included in national polls? The guy is on ballots and picking up support everywhere. He should triple his 2000 numbers.

I wouldn't be worried, but that GOP convention is just so damn pro-GOP. Surely this will cause Kerry's spine to be snapped. I mean, the WSJ says so, so it must be true. If we had spines on this blog, ours should be snapped too. I give up.

2. I agree
It's also surprising to me to see this from that website. KOS was always a Dean fanatic and a Kerry detractor, I would have thought they would spin this current situation as Kerry finished and Dean should have been the nominee.

3. Think we could set up a 'Chicken Little' forum
so the doomed can have a place to play without disrupting those of us optimists who have work to do?
