1. MIA/POW and Vietnam normalization partners
It's a great bridge issue, and perfect counter to the swift vote loons.

2. For the love of God I will never understand the fascination he has
with this nasty little man. Kerry talks about him so much its like the ticket is Kerry/McCain/......Edwards.

5. What? McCain is the secret to winning? Did you hear his speech
the other night filled with talk of "vanquishing the enemy" and "good and evil?" He sounded as crazy as "w".

4. For unifying purposes. When he and McCain worked together and put aside
differences they were able to achieve very important goals for this country, the normalization of relations with Vietnam and a system that better tracked and identified missing soldiers.

It's called GOOD GOVERNANCE as opposed to partisan governance.

8. Well said...
I don't know you, have never argued with you, but want to thank you for producing some of the more intelligent, even-handed, and clear-headed posts on the board. Especially in the Kerry-bashing threads.

12. Swing voters liked McCain. This IS election politics to win them over.
People either get it or they don't.

13. but if mccain has buried the hatchet and is all cozy with
the shrub now, then wouldn't someone that follows mccain vote for bush? so by invoking mccain when mccain is so openly supporting the lying son of a bitch that's taking up space in the oval office ain't kerry running the risk of shooting hisself in the foot?

Edited on Wed Sep-01-04 11:53 AM by kentuck
that are still pissed off at the way Bush and Rove dissed him in South Carolina. They are not in Bush's corner yet. That's a lot of votes.

When it looks like he will be running against McCain for reelection in 2008. McCain will run ads of Kerry compimenting him.

14. My, what a truly eloquent spokesperson for our side!
Kerry is doing what he has to to win...that is what politicians do!

Just like McCain had to endorse Bush, because he is a Republican, & he is also a politician. And he is running for reelection to the Senate & wants to win.

17. No kidding....Democrats would do better to not lionize Republicans...
that have not proven to be worthy.

Furthermore, John McCain is a big lying asshole himself.

He's not popular, he's just a media fiction like Bush.

19. Because McCain is popular
with Democrats, Republicans and independents. That's why Bush and Kerry both use McCain's name, they are trying to get votes.

20. Because Terry McAuliffe tells him to?
I'm not comfortable with it either.
I certainly hope it doesn't blow up in Kerry's face.
