Zell Miller praises John Kerry
" My job tonight is an easy one: to present to you one of this nation's authentic heroes, one of this party's best-known and greatest leaders -- and a good friend. He was once a lieutenant governor -- but he didn't stay in that office 16 years, like someone else I know. It just took two years before the people of Massachusetts moved him into the United States Senate in 1984."

"In his 16 years in the Senate, John Kerry has fought against government waste and worked hard to bring some accountability to Washington. Early in his Senate career in 1986, John signed on to the Gramm-Rudman-Hollings Deficit Reduction Bill, and he fought for balanced budgets before it was considered politically correct for Democrats to do so. John has worked to strengthen our military, reform public education, boost the economy and protect the environment.”
- Zell Miller < Democratic Party of Georgia Jefferson Jackson Dinner 2001>

8. He regurgitates RNC talking points ad infinitum...
"John Kerry is so far left of the American mainstream..."
"John Kerry voted against every weapons system that helped us win the Cold War."
"John Kerry voted against supporting the troops in Iraq."
"John Kerry lacks conviction, wants both sides of every issue..."

That pretty much sums up every interview he's done in the last couple years. Funny how his opinion of John Kerry's Cold War voting record only recently become one of his talking points.

And, like many Republicans, he still hasn't chosen which talking point works better -- Kerry's the most liberal person in the Senate or he's a flip-flopper who changes direction all the time.

3. Zig Zag Zell
Can go to...

How the "We don't flip flop" (yeah right) party can use Zell as their speaker at the RNC is one of the greatest statements of unmitigated gall in history.

6. These sorts of comments should be played up frequently.
Zig Zag Zell moves wherever the wind blows. He's a traitor not only to the Democratic Party, but to the man he called his "friend."

May it lay heavy on Mr. Miller's conscience.

16. Reminds me of Wellstone's last race in 2002
He was up against Norm Coleman, who later won the election after Paul died. BTW, Norm is one of the convention chairs for the RNC this year-- be sure to throw a brick through your TV at him!

The commercial showed Norm making a big speech at the state DFL (Democratic-Farmer-Labor) convention, where he not only praised Bill Clinton, but also praised Paul Wellstone to the hills and back! Norm had made some noise about changing parties back then, and he was saying sh!t like "I am a Democrat, and Paul Wellstone is a Democrat". It was a great commercial, with no voice-over work, just a caption at the bottom of the screen with the date and location. And it did WONDERS for Paul's numbers. Those who didn't know what a flip-flopping scumbag Coleman was before the race knew then.

Paul would have easily won re-election in 2002, and was hammering Norm in every poll. His loss not only cost us a Senate seat, but probably cost us the governorship too, as Paul and gov. candidate Roger Moe were going to spend the last week before the election in an all-out push across the state. Instead, we got a Republican gov who thinks that schools are somehow magically funded every year, and who refuses to raise taxes, but will add (or increase) "user fees" until you wonder if they'll start charging one for the air.

Too bad we have to wait another two years to evict our governor, and another four to evict Normie.

11. I saw him asked about this
a while back. His response was that he was handed a scripted introduction to read. Truth? Judge for yourself.
