Kerry Won't Fight, Can't Win: Bullshit. Republican Talking Points.
The grousing of our party 'faithful' is being co-opted by the opposition in an attempt to portray our campaign as weak and ineffective.

Republicans piggyback on the pessimism. Result:

Demoralized Democrats

Depressed Contributions

Depressed Turnout

Low Percentage of Absentee and Early Votes

Do we really want to contribute to these? Do we really believe that the "Kerry's is weak' mantra is harmless in the hands of the opposition?

Its not just Kerry coming at them. There is a unified party behind him, pissed off and ready to kick some ass. Did you see the DNC press briefing today? Lots of energy. Would have sent a chill through Bush if he was watching.

Kerry Turns Up the Volume With Litany of Critiques for Bush
http://www.nytimes.com/2004/09/01/politics/campaign/01CND-KERR.html?hp

...."President Bush now admits he miscalculated in Iraq," Mr. Kerry said in a speech lasting 35 minutes. "In truth, his miscalculation was ignoring the advice that was given to him, including the best advice of America's own military.

"So when the president says we have the same position on Iraq, I have to respectfully disagree.

"Our differences couldn't be plainer. And I have set them out consistently. When it comes to Iraq, it's not that I would have done one thing differently, I would've done almost everything differently."

He added: "I would have built a strong, broad coalition of our allies around the world. And, if there's one thing I learned from my service, I would never have gone to war without a plan to win the peace."....

"But for the first time since the Great Depression, America has lost jobs — 2.7 million manufacturing jobs in the last four years alone. More than 45 million Americans don't have health insurance, 5 million have lost coverage since 2000. And this year alone, 220,000 more Americans couldn't afford to go to college."...

6. The American People need to wake up.
And give control of the country to the only people being reasonable. We need to take the house and senate and the presidency, then we can force through the changes that we know the country needs.

The problem we have now is that the neanderthals are running the store, if we could jsut get the power, we can give the American public the free medical care they so desperately need, we can give them the medicine that will absolutely change their lives, we can negotiate with the people who shrub has alienated and caused to hate us, we can transform this country into a true global partner with the rest of the world.

I have a dream...!

7. I'll bet that all hell is going to break loose after Junior's speech
The media...even the hard-core "Bush Base" media...is saying that his speech is "critical," that if he wants to grab anyone outside of the "faithful" he will need to have a concrete game plan for the next four years...not just the same promises from four years ago capped with "I MEAN it this time."

I think Kerry's going to let him give his speech and then tear him a new one. We shall see.

8. How could he not?
Kerry is an eloquent speaker, with a great cadence to his voice, and is 1000% more attractive than shrub. Anyone would be a fool not to listen to him!

12. Bull. Kerry needs to speak up and start fighting.
The fault lies with the candidate saying little of substance that differentiates him from Bush, especially on Iraq.

I'll vote for Kerry but I'm not about to let him get a pass every time he says or does something stupid. i.e. "I would still vote for the IWR."

Grow up and get over it. The Democratic Party is just that. Democratic, we all have a say. It's not a cheerleading club.
