Did anyone just see Bob Kerrey on CNN?
That man made me proud to be a Democrat, as well as an American. He was full of fire in defending John Kerry against the swifties. Paula Zahn was speechless. I loved it!

4. From the NY Daily News:
Kerrey-ing no illusions

New School president Bob Kerrey - a former Democratic senator from Nebraska and a Medal of Honor recipient in Vietnam - had choice words for the Swifties accusing Sen. John Kerry of volunteering for Vietnam combat duty to pad his political résumé.

"Oh, f-- them," he told the Daily News' James Gordon Meek. "Quote me on that. The idea that you'd volunteer for because you're thinking about a political career. ... That's what you think about doing if you want a posthumous political career."

5. Well he tore Rove and bush
apart. He as much as said that they were responsible for those ads. Of course since Kerrey is a vet, they will attack him next.

7. Well, He's Just A Single Amputee!
Are we sure Kerrey deserved those medals? I mean, he can still walk, run for office, serve in the Senate. How bad could that injury have been? That's their attack posture.

It worked (sort of) against Kerry. He got shot, but really wasn't shot that bad! Logic is not their strength.

8. He's awesome. We should thank him! WOW, read HIS story here.
http://www.npr.org/programs/morning/features/2002/june/kerrey/

I did not have to give an order to begin the killing but I could have stopped it and I didn't. In truth, I remember very little of what happened in a clear and reliable way... -- Bob Kerrey in "When I Was a Young Man."

...

"To win that war, you've got to go into villages where the enemy is and you've got to do terrible things and we were unwilling to pay that price... The trouble is, our political leaders couldn't reach that conclusion and they couldn't get out. And so we had five more years, from '68 to '73... You knew what was going on, this thing was not going to be won. There was not a victory in sight. When I got to Vietnam, it was even more obvious."
