I found the actual footage of that news conference on CSPAN and what Bush is saying is not what you have there. I argued with some people here about it and if you have an audio file that says what you have quoted there, I will tell you right now that the file is doctored. The actual tape can be heard at CSPAN.

I will warn you now that if you use it, you will be torn to shreds and look like a fool.

No sense in using something that was obviously doctored so it can be discovered and we (or you) lose credibility.

When I was researching the recording, the guy I was arguing with here insisted I was wrong because he claimed to have recorded it himself. Now, either he was lying or he was confused. When I checked the audio from "his" file and the audio from CSPAN they were identical. I didnt push the issue with him, but I made it very clear that if anyone used that recording as it was, they would make all of us look like fools. We have a hard enough time just being heard, let alone being taken seriously.

The issue with what Bush said, and Im no friend of Bush, was that he claims to have learned lessons from Vietnam and the audio clearly shows that he learned those lessons by being an observer of history, not because he was there. It wasnt even a Bush "verbal gaffe". It was the intentional re-editing of the CSPAN sourced recording that bothered me. We dont have to do that with Bush..he provides endless amounts of shit to legitimately attack him for.

7. Wow, first texas invades Florida, now the DU

I swear, there are almost as many Texans in FLorida right now as there are Floridians. Half the cars on the roads have Texas plates. They are in FULL FORCE out here...I even have pictures of the invasion. I snap pictures of a lot of the ones I see when I have my camera with me. I even caught one using the E-Pass lane on a toll road, indicating they have been here long enough to get an E-Pass even though the cheap bastards havent paid their FL Tag tax (under FL law, they have 10 days to get a FL tag).
