The Media is withering before our eyes
Fox won't air the MoveOn ad, CNN won't air a Log Cabin repub ad, according to AZ's rep, USA Today cancelled Moore's credentials and Bush today filed an FEC complaint against 527's.

Within a couple of days a national paper, caves to partisan complaints? Moore's practically "the anti-Christ" they say, so he's dropped. By grown-ups?

That's free press and freedom of speech. Gone. Bush may end up being the last US pres that citizens are allowed to criticize legally.

Take full advantage of what's left.

1. I wasn't aware USA Today pulled Moore's credentials...
...where did you see/hear this?

I read his first column, wasn't anything like Coulter's. No "pie wagon" comments.

5. that is unconfirmed in fact USA Today denied it in a phone call
it's a good bet Republicans always lie.

The Media is the enemy. The sooner we all get over our shock, outrage and disbelief about this, the sooner we will be able to so something about it.

Never believe their "equal time" promises either. They are in Bushy's back pocket. Period.

9. I'm glad to hear it's a done deal
Some pieces recently- Milbank, even Kessler on Rudy, have been actual journalism.

And I understand how a one-party govt has thrown them- it doesn't even out when the "balanced" dem view (represented by generally conservative dems) comes from those without power. The media's adversarial posture to govt should have stiffened and instead it vanished altogether. The "other side" is no longer another party but consists of those with power and those with none.

Previously, individuals within the media institution have failed in their responsibility. Now the very institution is crumbling.

11. Ok, good. I hope that rep was talking up his sleeve
The other whacko things he said give credence to that! A lie like this wouldn't be surprising.

THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!!!! BECAUSE WE HAVE NO ALTERNATE MEANS OF TRANSMISSION!!!!
We let them rob the horses and then now we are trying to close the gate!

13. Here are 2 of the instances I cited
Here's the Moore link. -Others have said Moore's still in but there are no links for that yet:

http://www.azstarnet.com/sn/hourlyupdate/36984.php

Here's the CNN/LCR link

http://www.logcabin.org/logcabin/press_083104.html

And the MoveOn ad was a mild one a few days ago. If I run across it, I'll post it.

17. Timeline

I find that link suspect.

The Ebert and McCain show
By Michael Moore
NEW YORK — Poor John McCain.

Here's a guy I've always sort of liked, a courageous war hero reduced to carrying water for the Bush campaign.

I can't find anything on moveon.org and FOX NEWS, and your link is the only place the Moore story appears. If it were an real AP story, it would be everywhere.

14. CNN won't show the log cabin ad..
because of a sign that reads "God hates fags", but they will show the Kerry ad with testimony about rape and mutilation?

We need to call them on their hypocrisy.

15. Didn't they show the Swift Boat Ad for free?
On all their discussion shows? Free time for Swift Boat Vets! But you can't even PAY to suggest the GOP accept homosexuals?
