LTTE re: USAToday pulling Michael Moore's press pass
Very disappointed that USAToday bowed to partisan pressure and removed Michael Moore's press credentials for the Republican National Convention. Mr. Moore's columns were insightful and presented a point of view which, although shared by millions of Americans, is virtually censored in American press.

We need to call them on this bullshit:

1. Did they actually pull him or was that just BS from Shedagg in his
little rant at the convention? Last I saw on the thread in LBN, they didn't pull him.

4. Well if he shows up to tomorrow
Shedagg can eat crow, and it doesn't hurt to let USAToday know that we apprectiate the support

5. I called them...
They said it wasn't true. Then I called the Arizona paper that ran the AP story on their website and suggested they check it out for themselves.

6. Funny. Before hearing about this Shadegg stunt,
I had e-mailed USA Today to thank them for publishing Moore's columns. I asked them to "Please publish -- more Moore."

Maybe we could send a positive message about publishing Moore instead of a negative one about not publishing him. Might be more effective.

7. Sent this e-mail:
Dear USA Today:

Today marks another sad day for American "journalism." Your "newspaper" bowed to the pressure of the Bush machine and rescinded Michael Moore's press credentials (and, I imagine, his column).
I was convinced that at least a small part of the "fourth power" still existed for the good of America. Your act of cowardice in accepting orders from the imperial Bush administration is a shame to the ideals of journalism and a treasonous attack to the American spirit.

May the Universal God help us (not the right-wing, fundamentalist god that seems to be controlling your newspaper's policies at this moment) because the press is not there to provide balance and information to the public.

I will never again read your "newspaper." It has ceased to exist as a means of obtaining information that can be considered reliable and not muzzled by corporate, imperial America.
