Barney Frank says McCain's backout is "a stunt",
and that McCain has no standing on the committee - his presence there will be of no use.
It's just politics, and he knows he will lose face in the debate.

1. Wow. And here I though McCain had a definite advantage going into the debates.
I guess the McCain campaign knows something I don't, regarding McCain's mental state.

3. I heart Barney. Damn I'd like this to be over soon. Please. I'll wait if I have to
in order to get an Obama win, but if we could just move as quickly as possible toward an Obama landslide that would suit me fine.

:hi:

5. I actually saw that watching TV while getting car washed.

He was great.

Said, what is McCain going to do, ride in here at the last minute then take credit for it all? Said he would only hurt the process at this point, that they have it almost figured out, that they'll have it ready in a few days. Said that there are plenty of people who know what they're doing working on it. That neither presidential candidate should be involved.

Love that man.

OH! And on a strange note, even Brokaw said no surprise if everyone thinks this is a McCain stunt, after all he is trying to get elected. (paraphrasing)

6. Saw one of McCains' advisors or whatever this afternoon
talking like McCain was responsible for any good to come from this thing. He stated that McCain CALLED several Senators and that this is responsible for the bi-partisan resolution of the bailout bilol hearings. BUT Barney Franks was saying that there was cooperation between parties last night, and there was obviously not much disagreement betweed Reps and Dems that it was a bad bill and that most people in the US did not want any part of it.

McCain is again demonstrated to be a liar. He obviously is counting on us to be dumb enough to believe anything he says.
