We did it! Wolf acknowledges he whored for the GOP
Edited on Wed Sep-01-04 10:19 PM by John_H
If anyone thinks our activism at DU didn't play a major role in Tad Divine being on CNN just now they're fucked. They got so much shit that Wolfie even felt compelled to remind us that he was being "fair" and that the decision was payback for CNN's whoring for Ralph Reed. A pat on the back to all who wrote and called!!!!

on the day of the CNN virtual protest may have paid off. However, when I wrote I challenged them to have a very strong Dem on right after * speaks. They put Gillespie on after Kerry. Anyone want to guess who'll be on CNN after the chimpwad tomorrow?

6. Yes, credit also to Brock at Media Matters
He sent an open letter to CNN saying that since they had Conservatives on right after the Edwards and Kerry speeches he expected them to have Dems on after Cheney and Bush.

10. After TD was done, Wolf said essentially that
"Our viewers may remember that we had senior bush strategist Ralph Reed on right after John Edwards spoke. That's why we put Tad Divine on now." In other words, Wolf was telling the freepers that, "Hey I whored for you now I gotta whore for them." He was saying to us, "See? I told you I was a fair guy."

If he wasn't responding to controversy, why would he even call attention to the reasons he had a guest on and when he had him on? He wouldn't.

Kudos to David Brock as well.

8. We must keep up the "counter-pressure" no matter what
If Dems win or lose, the right-wing will continue its never-ending campaign of hate, and we will get shafted if we don't keep up what Mr. Brock called "counter pressure" on Air America today.

13. Maybe they finally realized that all the Republicans
Are watching FOX and not them. After they lost in the ratings last week to MSNBC, off all stations, I'm sure they started to reevaluating. But that's too bad because I'm still not watching.

15. Feels good

I have sent 4 or 5 emails to CNN and have made two phone calls to viewer feeback lines.

I simply considered the possibility that my protests (much like fellow DUers) went unheeded, dumped into the kill file.

Maybe the fact someone is watching over them with their bullshit can get them to be objective again. In the very least, it tells me there is hope in protest.

18. CNN is only good for international disasters
They have more reporters in more places. Other than that, they are complete bullshit - except Christiane Amanpour. And they shut her up quick, didn't they?

21. I hope we had an effect! I've also wondered if the Bush documentary...
was altered. The ads for it did not seem to fit the somewhat balanced "Bush Mission" piece that was shown. Maybe CNN thought they could not be so brazen as to run an hour-long free Bush ad after running Candy's Kerry hitpiece, "Born to Run," in connection with the Dem Convention.

24. Even Wolf was sick of Miller tonight
Miller had to gall to say he had "more documentation than the Library of Congress and the National Archives put together" on the subject, yet somehow couldn't back up some of the claims, and when Wolf pointed out that Kerry had voted for 15 out of 19 military appropriation bills, Miller said he didn't know about all that.

How dare that little Confederate get huffy at any resistance after literally accusing Kerry of playing politics with national security and essentially treasonous obstruction.

Wolf is a classic Gunga Din for the Junta, but even he was offended by this display.
