Hate filled, venom spewing convention will be a liability to the
Viscous and Stupid Party.

They blew it big time. I only hope the Kerry people capitalize on it (with videos) and shove it down their throats.

4. Exactly and that's JUST what they wanted to avoid this time but
their deep and abiding hatred of US couldn't be held in - when they get together it just comes bursting out like a, well, explosive colon.

7. I agree - worst convention since 1992
Edited on Wed Sep-01-04 10:45 PM by hatrack
And 1992 pretty much sucked the big one in every way. This lacks the overt social-conservative slant of G. H. W. B.'s big comeback attempt, but more than makes up for it in outright negativity, lies and venom.

11. Nothing but Be Afraid of Terrorists; and Hate John Kerry!
Even Joe Scarborough commented on MSNBC that we have now seen two conventions, Democratic and Republican, that were all about John Kerry! It is now very clear that the Republicans have nothing they can point to as positive, except their dubious claim that they are better at protecting us than Kerry would be. This was in fact, the focus of both Zell Miller's and Dick Cheney's speeches.

The Republicans ate up Miller's attacks on Kerry. I noted though that Cheney's speech had little fire, and the outbursts of applause were carefully scripted, not at all spontaneous. With nothing left of the RNC than Bush's acceptance speech tomorrow night, it is quite apparent that the RNC has laid an egg.

Miller's attack was highly personal against Kerry; even Andrea Mitchell said it was "over the top". Kerry must speak out boldly to defend himself against this senile old man, so that the country can see that he is strong, and not the waffler that the Republicans have tried to paint him as being. Then he will win in November for sure!
