In advance of President Bush's primetime convention speech, former Deputy Treasury Secretary Roger Altman and former Social Security Administrator Ken Apfel will hold a conference call Thursday at 12:30 PM ET to preview the old ideas, failed ideas and bad ideas the president is expected to talk about.

Tomorrow night Bush will stand at the convention podium and say that America is turning the corner and he's getting the job done. He will claim that this is the best economy of our lifetimes, and that he is on the side of middle-class families. He will lay out his tired, old policy proposals and claim that they compose a new agenda. But these are old ideas, bad ideas, and failed ideas. Bush has a record of proposing policies that hurt America's middle class while benefiting Bush's special interest friends and the wealthiest few.

The choice in this election is clear: between a president with a record of false promises and economic hardship for middle-class families, and a leader who can be trusted to fight for middle class families who need good paying jobs and affordable health care.
