McCain's latest stunt and what he stands to gain.
Edited on Fri Sep-26-08 04:09 AM by goletian
this is my take. people who see things for what they are, are right to be confused about how this could possibly favor mccain. heres how it can... he and his party are putting on an elaborate show for the american people, to paint mccain as some guy with pull thats got solutions and puts country before campaign -- absolute bull shit, but some might buy it if they arent called on it. plus, by not coming to an agreement on the bailout, if the dems push for a solution, sincerely wanting to help the country, the repubs can point and blame them for taking peoples money, and again repeat the mccain is on the peoples side/country first meme. this also enough of a diversion so mccain can delay debates without getting asked too much about it; obviously delaying them is to his benefit given the circumstances with the economy and palin being the worst vp pick ever. aside from all that, it puts him front n center, and no longer do we hear "economy is trash, mccain scrambling" in the media. they are framing the discussion. again. we cant let them do it.

this is all an elaborate scheme, brought to you by the masters of politics, master liars, master manipulators... the media should not simply ask questions and speculate, they should call this ridiculous stunt exactly what it is: an attempt to play games with the crisis for political gain, a blatant disregard for the nation and its people. its the most detestable thing mccains done so far. theres no room for speculation, no room for questions, it is what it is. complete. and. utter. republican. mccain. bull. shit. if the objective media doesnt nip this in the bud right away, they may very well be complicit.

1. So basically you are saying they are better at politics and we are better
at governing.

In essence.

4. Another thing it did---
It pulled Obama out of Florida where he was making gains in a critical area (the I-4 corridor) for him. Interrupted Obama's debate prep too. This was all to, like you said, make McCain out to be the imaginary "maverick" he fancies himself.

Obama has tried to run a professional campaign and McCain's thugs are playing dark alley hoodwink 3 card monty games with the American people's minds.

5. Correct.... They are trying to kill 2 birds with 1 stone...
The GOP realized their base was very uncomfortable with the bail out, and independents as well.

They had to figure out how to support Bush and the economy without nailing themselves into a coffin.

Thus:

1. Mccain provides political cover for them when the final dealing comes down

2. Mccain gets to parachute in and look like a bi-partisan leader, even a maverick per se
