The Republicans will help draft a plan that they can say is McCain's doing...
...to once more push the "Maverick" meme and say that the GOP were the ones, under McCain's wise Maverick stewardship, to rescue America.

Just a thought. I'd believe damn near ANYTHING these days, unless I heard McCain or a Republican say it.

1. I don't doubt it for a second. The big question is, will the majority of the voting public?
I sure as hell hope they aren't dumb enough to get dupped. But sadly, I've been wrong before on this.

2. Of course they will
it's as clear as glass, but I don't think it's going to do anything for the old guy.

4. Republicans don't have to be fans to instinctively cover their asses.
Their one predictable move is to circle the wagons and vote in lockstep. There are many of them up for reelection, and if they believe for even a second that this theater could help their chances, they'd do damned near anything.

6. It won't matter, the American people know the GOP is behind this mess.
Their decades of deregulation opened the door to corporate greed and allowed this to happen.

America is FED UP with this sh!t. It won't matter, the damage has been done. They will not trust a Republican to fix problems that were created by the Republicans.

8. Boehner was yapping about a Republican plan yesterday that didn't use" taxpayer money"

but rather used investors' money. He claims that there are a lot of investors with a lot of money sitting on the sidelines and they will jump right in and fund the bailout if we pass more tax cuts and further deregulate the financial services sector.

Please McCain, back THAT plan. It's such a winner!

:sarcasm:
