Could Pelosi and Reid adjorn the House and Senate around 6PM?

Could Pelosi and Reid adjorn the House and Senate around 6PM?
I mean the meetings re: the bailout would still be in effect, but that would only include the relevant people who don't include McCain. If the Senate is not in session McCain really doesn't have any purpose for being in Washington and should be able to get on a jet in time for Mississippi. I mean this whole thing is a total charade. What's he going to be doing at 9PM on a Friday night anyway?

2. Reid already declared that the Senate was going to work next week.
So end of story. No excuse for McLame to miss the debate.
