I'd Like To Point Something Out
I've been in a reflective mood all morning. So I started thinking...

4 years ago, we were talking about gays, guns, and god. And how Kerry was a coward in Vietnam. We didn't talk about the war, the effects of the war, the length of the war, and the impact of the war on the economy. We didn't talk about the economy at all. We talked about 9/11.

Today, we're talking about the economy. We're talking about the war. And how the two are related. We're talking about who can handle real crisis and who is most fit to serve our country's highest office. We're talking about who has a real plan for America's future. And we're winning because when it comes to real issues, Democrats are in the right.

This has been a pretty amazing trip. We're watching nearly 30 years of Reagan-era deregulation and trickle down bullshit come to an end. It's almost as important as the Wall coming down. I get a little wobbly when I imagine what is to come.

Then, I think I about the Neo-cons. I firmly believe they saw this coming 4 to 8 years ago. It may explain the quick rush to war and the latest push to drill, baby, drill. I believe firmly that it's the reason why Republicans so feverishly ran on social issues for the last 6 years. How can you run on the rich getting richer off of our backs? But when family's are faced with two and three mortgages and losing decent waged jobs, whether or not two guys get married is really of no concern. And it doesn't really matter that the guy who would be president has dark skin because he may just save us from this mess.

Anyhow, the ride's not over yet. Lots of work to be done. You, yeah you, need to get people registered and when election day comes, get those people in the booths. We have this thing in our grasp. I can't wait.

1. It's the post election work that's gonna be vital...
We may end up needing some serious New Deal stuff.

2. wow, bush really did a great job bringing about change, didn't he?

i've actually thought this from before shrub was elected; i knew from my texas days what that he was to the right of buchanan and felt that his administrations would be a get-it-while-the-gettin's-good administration, though i have to admit i NEVER thought they'd seriously even TRY for a second term -- too obvious. i was worried that kerry would end up taking the fall, be cast as this generation's carter, and set us up for another generation of criminal republican presidents.

in fact, i think this was the plan of the powers that be, then shrub went and stole it. frankly, i think the powers that be were pissed at him, which is why the second term accomplished absolutely zero except destroying shrub's reputation.

4. It is amazing how Obama isn't considered walking a tight rope huh?
Every single thing Kerry did blew up into ridiculous screaming matches on TV and the blog. Now everyone realizes how they were dragged into that just like they were dragged into the war.

5. Social issues they have no intention of acting on...
They've had eight years of absolute power. Had they really wanted change in the social issues they wield, they would have changed them while they had the chance. Clearly these social issues they claim to hold so dear are more valuable and effective as tools of fear.

The neo-cons knew exactly how this would play out. They aren't stupid, they aren't incompetent, they are merely evil.
