Matthews posts about interview
from http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/5445086/

I just had this incredible moment with Senator Miller, the Democrat who just gave the Republican keynote.

It was only an hour after his speech, and I guess he came to the interview loaded for bear.

I questioned him about some of his remarks. Knowing what I know about how they vote on Capitol Hill, I tried to get him to talk about how senators all the time, for legislative reasons, vote "No" as a legislative tactic because too much money is being spent, when they couldn't have backed the bill otherwise. This goes for conservatives voting against social programs just as it does for liberals voting against weapons systems.

3. Here is why I think Zell blew up.
I was watching the interview, and Tweety said in passing like, "Is this something like the Democrats saying Republicans want to starve children?"

There was noise in The Garden, and Zell thought he asked in a smarmy way, "Do Republicans want to starve children?"

That is the moment Zell completely lost it and challenged him to a duel. It was funny. His composure changed in a millisecond.

Good TV.

4. I don't think thats it.
The guy lost it for 5 minutes straight. Matthews was reasonable, the bastard was "wild eyed", along with the room of conventioneers who were foolish enough to cheer the idiot on.

Good TV indeed.

6. He got shelled on CNN
and then went to Hardball. He was already pissed about the CNN thing as he hit the air. It didn't take much to push the guy over the edge.

7. Sad thing is
Matthews says Zell's coming back on Thursday, face to face. Matthews is gonna kiss his ass, just like the last third of the blowup interview.
