Did anyone see frank luntz try to pass off...
freepers as independent voters in Cincinnati last night? If those people were real, I am, once again, embarrassed by my fellow citizens.

2. Agreed, there are hardly any democrats
that would have reacted that way, and independents aren't all that stupid.

4. Yeah how could their
bullshit speech line-thingys to track approval ALWAYS be above 50%? Luntz's focus groups are a big part of what is wrong with how parties try to get votes.

5. The big lies...
"I'm an undecided voter"
"I'm a lifetime Democrat who will be voting for Bush"
"I'll pull out"

6. Cincinnati is VERY conservative.
His focus group were probably people who live in the suburbs, far away from people like me.

10. Not Necessarily - Not Anymore
Definitely used to be though. Seeing Kerry signs 3-1. Driving into work with my Kerry/Edwards sign on back of car I get honked at, look over and there's a really nice looking young girl giving me the thumbs up and she had a Kerry/Edwards sticker on her car too. She really made my day. People I work with are pretty much 50/50 although some Libertarians are making the choice for Kerry. Not any Repubs yet though, but who knows.

We have Carl Lindner here (Chiquita, United Dairy, Insurance) and he's a big Repub who puts lots of money into the races, as well as does the DeWitt's who are also very wealthy. Indian Hill is the wealthiest suburb (where the movie Traffic was shot) and Bush makes his stumps there, a whole lot of the metro area hates him, there are always protests.

7. And what about his little approval meter?
Edited on Thu Sep-02-04 08:16 AM by HFishbine
That gadget he has that shows if people are approving or disapproving of what they hear as a speaker speaks. It's a joke. Several times a speaker would say "And John Kerry says..." Is the listenerer reacting to the speaker confronting Kerry's words or to Kerry's original statement? It looks cool, but it's meaningless.
