I promise this really does matter---on the level of
things you notice without consciously noticing (unless you're like me).

McCain's suit looked really cheap. And the tie was all wrong. But mostly it looked cheap--cheap material, cheap cut. Isn't his wife wealthy or something?

And Obama's suit was well-tailored, really nice material, the tie was awesome; it was obviously made well.

Honestly, you'd think in a national campaign and with access to that kind of personal wealth, he'd have a nicer suit for the debates. I was really surprised at first, but when I thought about it--I've really never seen McCain in a super nice suit. Is it his age or something?

1. And beside being cheap, it was empty.
Obama pretty well proved that.

5. I think part of it is McNuts. I don't mean to slam him personally, but you & I both
know there are some human bodies that wear clothes better than others. I'm POSITIVE his suit or tie was NOT CHEAP! Nobody who buys $700 shoes buys a $300 suit! I also think because Barack is tall & thin, he can wear almost anything well. Why do you think ALL MODELS are tall & thin?

There was a post a while ago that said McNuts has all his suits custom made, and Barack buys his off the rack.

7. Yeah, Obama pretty much makes anything look good, just like it's hard to take a bad pic of him.
In the primaries, early on, Hillary had a lot of horrendous pics, but they clearly worked on it and it was a lot harder to find a bad pic of her late in the game.

McCain has a lot more working against him, face, body, complexion, posture, everything. I don't know if he could make the best suit look good.

12. Wow.
Well in that case I'm even more impressed by Obama.

How does McCain make nice suits look so cheap? That's amazing.

6. It really is important. Someone should tell McCain to wear

a red tie, too. Blue suit, white shirt, red tie--presidential. That tie on McCain really sucked.

You know he spent %500 bucks for his shoes. Bet the socks had holes in the toe.

Oh, and the blue shirt doesn't work, either.

10. I noticed that. Maybe it's a woman thing... but yes, I did notice
a distinct sloppiness/cheapness in how McCain was groomed. Maybe he just doesn't care what he looks like anymore, but the public will interpret that as lazy, unkempt and disrepectful.

11. John has always looked uncomfortable in his own skin
but that may be due to the extensive injuries he received in Vietnam. I always felt for him because of this but my sympathy ran out this year when he started playing the POW card too much. There is something to be said for bearing your troubles with quiet strength, which I don't see with this man. I think his suits are way expensive (Cindy is a multi millionaire!) but because he does not have Obama's body type and maybe because of his injuries he does not look nearly as good.
