McCain has two more opportunities to showcase how dislikable he is
People vote on likability- even when they think they're not. And McCain did nothing, absolutely nothing, to erase the perception of him as prickly and nasty- two traits that do him no favors.

Obama may come off as too cool and cerebral- though I think he's been making progress in changing that perception- but he never comes across as nasty.

The remaining debates won't do any favors for John McCain.

Personally, I thought he came out OK. The only perceptible problem I saw is that he tended to repeat buzzphrases over and over again like "meeting without pre-condition". But what Republican DOESN'T do this. When you have no real framework for ideals your left with aping pedal-pusher words over and over again.
