They did it again last night! As Vice President Cheney spoke to the nation, two anti-war protesters from a women's group calling itself Code Pink interrupted his speech and were quickly hustled out of Madison Square Garden.<snip>

Secret Service spokeswoman Ann Roman agreed. She said the agency did not consider the incidents security breaches.

"People are standing outside their hotels handing out credentials, no questions asked. And it's Republican staffers who are doing it," a law enforcement source said. "They want to fill the empty seats."

Earlier this week, Queens Rep. Gary Ackerman, a pro-John Kerry Democrat, told The News he also was easily able to score credentials. "Security? What security?" he joked. "I had no trouble getting in."

9. Contrast this to the DNC where credentials were at a high premium

if you weren't a delegate. Some state delegations would have lotteries for guest credentials with a hundred names in the lottery for maybe 20 passes. Everyone wanted in but good luck finding credentials.
