9. Need to examine Zell's voting record ..

By the same standards, they could probably find that Zell Miller himself voted against bills containing those weapons systems at one time or another.

What is AMAZING to me is that Zell could give his whole spiel about Kerry voting cutting defense spending and THEN DICK CHENEY who was even MORE voracious about cutting defense spending followed Dick. Cheney personally advocated axing MANY of those programs including the B-2 bomber. The hypocrisy and intellectual dishonesty has risen to the grandest of scales.

In essense, this is PERFECT for the Democrats. The dittoheads will go around quoting Zell Miller and then Kerry will launch ads pointing out that he DID favor many of those defense appropriations but simply voted against certain bills loaded with pork. Than they will point out that DICK CHENEY actually opposed many of those weapons systems.

The record is all there. The Republicans must be banking on getting permanent bounce from this. The time to do this would have been 2 weeks before the election when the Democrats wouldn't have time to respond. They fucked up and they'll pay for it.
