Bush:

"Some citizens are fearful of stepping up. And they were happy -- they're not happy they're occupied. I wouldn't be happy if I were occupied either."

Yeah.... goes to show just how informed old Zell from Hell really is.

I suggest he read the following.... and the dirt on the gas taxes, and many other things are fully explained here.... in essence... the GOP is filled with liars who twist the facts to suit their agenda.

3. i find it disturbing
that the rethugs have made it a SHAMEFUL thing to vote down money money for wasteful and outdated combat equipment. voting down funds for a dept (the pentagon) that can not or will not account for billions of taxpayers' $$$.

where's the shame for voting away veterans' benefits? funds for the arts and education? Federal housing assistance? meals for the poor? not coming up w/ universal healthcare?

this is absolutely sickening and backwards. ass-backwards

4. Indeed
Most of these cuts were a result of a moment of reason when we discovered that Reagan had exaggerated the Soviet threat and we were swamped with weapons systems we didn't need or use, carriers that we couldn't man, and a nuclear policy without a credible threat due to the fall of the communist state. Now we are being sold the same hog-wash about our weapons keeping us safe from box-cutters and suicidal hijackers.

8. More contradictions
This campaign is so full of contradictions like this. Here's another I noticed today:

Dick Cheney, talking about George Bush's leadership qualities - "When he has to make a decision, he doesn't waffle, he doesn't agonize over it."

Laura Bush, talking about her husband's decision to go to war in Irag - "I knew he was wrestling with these agonizing decisions."

Which is it??? Is Laura Bush calling Dick Cheney a liar????

9. Yep. Didn't Jeff Greenfield predict...
... that Zell's words would be fact-checked to death, and come back to haunt him?

God, that interview of Zellout by Blitzer, Woodruff and Greenfield was the most uncomfortable thing I've watched in a long time. I've never seen Greenfield look more disgusted in my life. He was squirming in his chair, and his body language was placing him as far away from Zell-ot as possible... he was literally leaning in his chair, just to get away from him.

Hard to believe that that bizarre interview was trumped moments later by the Zell/Aaron Burr on Chris Matthews!!
