Or, to put it another way: channel your anger into productive effort for the next two months. Grumbling amongst ourselves is cathartic, but it doesn't win votes. If you have already done so: hook up with your local Democratic campaign office, get active as a Kerry volunteer and/or with your statewide candidates, write letters to the editor, do canvassing and phone banking, put bumper stickers on your car, donate, donate, donate if you can.

I'm going to be spending the prime-time hours during tonight's RNC convention staffing the Dems table at my county fair, and I'm damn glad there's something useful I can do during that time slot. (I'm also kind of looking forward to getting any confrontational Republicans. Me: "So you're a strong supporter of President Bush?" Them: "Damn straight!" Me: "And you decided to come to the county fair instead of watching the convention on the night he gives his acceptance speech?" Them: )
