Mom turned off TV during Zell's speech!!
She didn't even want to hear Cheney. My mom is a conservative democrat but like most americans that are like her not overly involved in politics and watching both conventions.

I gagged when she said she liked Arnold's speech but mom doesn't like harsh talk and is a positive person and turned it off during Zell's speech and as a result didn't hear Cheney.

She said she heard on the news they are trying to reach a certain type of voter and she finally got it, their true colors.

My mom is the type who watches the news, these ads and thinks if they are on tv is must be true. Well, after many emails from me and thanks Zell for being such a awful guy, she finally sees the truth.

1. My mom sounds a lot like yours
she was embarrassed as well. While Zell was making a fool of himself I told her this was a great night for my party, she smiled. :)

4. Have there been any ratings reported yet?
Such a speech is far less effective in sound-bite size. I'd really like to know how many people heard it. Specifically Zell, I didn't find Cheyney that impressive.

3. I don't think a lot of people saw Cheney
Zell's speech, no matter how you felt about it, was simply too interesting and thoughtprovoking that I don't think many people's minds could switch gears enough to pay attention. Zell stole the show (and not in a good way) from the VP. That doesn't happen often.
