10. WRONG. He needs to propose a new plan and distance himself from the Bush/Paulson handout.
He most certainly doesn't need to swoop into town and revive this shitty loser of a plan.

3. He has been smart to keep his distance. He is doing well enough doing what he is doing now.
Miring himself in that only opens him up to unnecessary political risks.

4. NO!! Comes to DC? Bad idea!
I think letting the House duke it out is the way to go myself. There are bodies falling by the wayside now, and they are all rethugs. Let's let them do their stuff.

8. I think if he were to stop by DC and switch ten dems, the election would be over.
Dont make a big thing out of it, try to get the switches by phone first and then come to DC and save the day.

18. If he is to be the chief of the Executive...
He needs to let the Legistative do its job.

McCain shows that he would be a vetoer in chief.

I would kinda like him to be more of an ass-kicker, myself. But he does have a talent for bringing people together. IF the Repuglicans will play ball, and that's a BIG IF, maybe he could broker a deal. I have a feeling they intend to be obstinate for the sake of obstruction and to protect McCain.

9. No! No! No! Let John Boehner stop crying in his hot chocolate and
stand up to his fringe party! Obama, Frank, Dodd and Pelosi have done all that they need to do. The rest is up to the Republicans. The Pundits have it correct on this one. John McCain needs to take a pill and get his ass on a plane back to DC to talk some sense into his party. However we all know that McCain is about as popular among his party as three day old pretzels. Now those nuts are gonna use this crisis to call out Boehner too! But this is not for Obama or the other Dems to resolve. Let the Repubs throw dirt--the wind is blowing it back on them. The public will ALWAYS blame this mess on the Republican Party. Pelosi and Obama know this and have already set this thing up to strangle McCain. Why do you think grampy is out with his latest attacks against Obama?

11. How you figure 53%, the majority of Americans are against
the bailout. I think he would probably lose.

14. No, they aren't. the majority of Americans don't even know what the fuck all this means.
This board alone is enough of a microcosm of the confusion in America.

16. I agree we don't know what all this means I sure don't. But
all the polls I have seen the public is against it.

19. The polls are meaningless. We need someone Americans trust to explain this.
Bush can no longer do this. The reason this whole thing has such high disapproval is because it's been too closely linked to the crooks in office. It's proven how little credibility the Republican name even has anymore.

15. I have a feeling that this deal is dead in the water. At least in its current form.
It will have to be re-worked, as Krugman said, into something that all Dems can get behind and fuck the Republicans who let it sink.
