Cheney has taken Kerry completely off the hook! Thank you Dick!
When Kerry agreed with Bush he would have invaded Iraq it seemed a disaster. But. Kerry has in fact accepted the Bush/Cheney rational for the war which Cheney (bless his heart) has just confirmed. The more Cheney proves the war was necessary the more it now helps Kerry. This means that the only possible argument about the war now is one of military competence rather than political option. Since Bush has made a total dogs breakfast of this war, and Kerry now has the benefit of hindsight, he has them over a barrel. And, of course, he has started that dialog with his speech to the American Legion today.

4. To get from here to there you have to be able to read a map.
Bush never had one.

2. I hope you mean "proves the war necessary" to Republicans
since the war was wrong--no matter how many allies we went in with.

6. I am not arguing the merits of the war.
Cheney has taken that off the table. This is pure cynical politics. The kind the Republicans play.

8. The war is a fact. Nothing can change that.
So use it like the Repukes do. I am very far from a "Pollyanna".

You've made that quite clear.

11. Well, enjoy the next twenty years of Republican rule.
Politics ain't beanbag. That is why they keep winning. And we keep losing. The American people are looking at Kerry and wondering if he is "tough" enough. If he can't take on the Repukes, how can they trust him to take on the terrorists? They are not looking for Saint John. They are looking for a bastard who is their bastard! As opposed to Bush who is his own bastard.

12. cool your jets, top gun....
There is the minor issue of the invasion and occupation of Iraq being illegal, immoral, founded upon lies and conducted by madmen in service of utterly despotic ideals. But lets not let passe notions like morality or ethics get in the way of WINNING!

17. I don't like that rotten war anymore than you do.
But it is a fact. I don't like it that Kerry said that he would make the same vote again. But it is a fact. Can't change any of it. But I still want Kerry to win because I totally despise Bush. If that means using what Cheney said in exactly the same way a Repuke would use it? I don't like it, but I would do it! We cannot afford a vote that legitimizes the last four years and gives us another four years. Period!

13. I prefer Clarke's approach.
Spinning the dials, I landed on FOX and caught Wes on with Gretta. Clarke said going to Iraq was "A HUGE BLUNDER". Iraq was no threat, and this blunder diverted funds and forces from the REAL THREAT...Al Qaeda. I wish Kerry would pick up a hint.

BTW: I'm a Kucinich supporter.

15. I Love Wes -But the Time For His Approach Is Past- He Lost
Kerry's position is locked in- He can't change now- Even if it's right it would be political suicide
