Chuck Todd: Obama also is to blame WTF?
Edited on Tue Sep-30-08 08:11 AM by Roberto1223
Because the Black Caucus did not support the bailout and the Democrats that voted against it, most were early supporters of Obama in the Primaries

59. Mrs. Greenspan is the last one who should be talking about this subject at all
Since (unlike Obama) her fucking wrinkled up husband deserves much of the blame for what the fucked up "trickle down" reverse Robin Hood economic policies have done to this country.

What fucking BULLSHIT! The dems delivered their part of the deal, does everyone really think they were going to dive head first into a shitfest without the Republicans? Wasn't John McCain supposed to be the one who was coming to "save the day", and took all the credit for it yesterday morning? Unbelievable.

I didn't think Todd specified the black caucus, he said
a lot of the no votes were Obama's early supporters. I don't know if that's true but I do know that most black caucus members weren't among Obama's early supporters

It was Andrea Mitchell that made Obama responsible for the votes of the black caucus. (Did she say they had a dance he was at???) But she said none of them voted for it. A poster further down said somebody made that comment to Blitzer on CNN and he corrected them saying 18 of the members did vote for it and 21 against it. (I might have that number wrong)
So it sounds like Andrea heard none voted for it and just passed it on without checking and Blitzer at some point checked the facts. Amazing.

But in any case...the Dems voted yes by a large majority. If getting the party vote through falls on the candidates I guess Obama did his job.

...but yesterday that loatheful Leslie Sanchez tried to pull that BS on Blitzer, and to his credit, he corrected her. "Not one member of the congressional black caucus voted for the bill." Blitzer for some reason had that info right in his hand, and said, "no, in fact, 18 members voted for it, 21 against, so half of them voted for it." In which case Ms. Loatheful had to say, "oh, I stand corrected."

Yes you do, you disgusting lying twit.

Er, you go, Wolf.

23. Maybe because since he wants to be the new Russet
he has to be their mouthpiece.

Since Russet passed, IMO Chuckie Todd is twisting that Re/Blue Map to make sure we know that "Obama is having trouble with the White votes in the critical states."

That is such a huge thing with him to repeat.

I don't like him.

27. Blitzer? Way to go having facts. Rare. This
is the first time I heard that info, the other TV talkers keep saying none of the congressional black caucus voted for the bill...
and shame on me I assumed it was true then. When it comes to candidates I never take media word for things, I look things up, get context. I should have known better.

Assuming Blitzer was correct he did the job I think the media should do...he knew facts and corrected misstatements. That should not be rare but it is. I rarely give him any praise...but kudos Blitzer

16. 2/3rds of Dems voted for it. 2/3rds of repukes voted against.
There were very few "early (Black Caucus) supporters" of Obama. Most had already endorsed Hillary back in December 2007 and only changed either half-way through the primaries or at the very end.

But NBC/MSNBC shouldn't let the facts get in the way!

White people need to get over themselves. Playing the pity card on this will not work.

Seriously, the Black Caucus is a part of the House. Obama is in the SENATE.

So the only reason Todd can blame Obama for not talking the Black Caucus is because of race. There is no other logical connection between the Black Caucus and Obama!

More than 60% of Democrats voted for the bill.

The Democrats who voted against it said they wanted a better bill. That is very unlike Republicans who voted against it because they got their feeling hurt.

57. Chuckie must be helping Tom Brokaw bias the coverage in McCain's favor.
After all, in today's NYT profile, Brokaw let everyone know about his serious mission as a journalist.

His mission, he said, was to assure the candidate's aides that -- despite some negative on-air commentary by Mr. Olbermann in particular -- Mr. McCain could still get a fair shake from NBC News.

Apparently for Brokaw, McCain getting a "fair shake" from NBC means NO NEGATIVE COMMENTS.

But Obama can be trashed regularly to show that the NBC reporters are not biased in his favor. So yo see, Chuckie is just showing the dear friends of Brokaw at the McCain campaign that he is not against them. Isn't that nice?
