GOP Strategy

This idea was floated in my morning meeting;

This RNC is targeting "The Base". It is ALL red meat.

It was also posted here a couple of days ago that Bush/Cheney 04 are mailing out "Requests for Absentee Ballots" in swing states.

Here's the trick.

Getting people out to the polls has always been a problem. This strategy is aiming to get people to stay home, and mail in a ballot.

Hence, the "letters" are accompanied by a Bush/Cheney 04 "Fact Sheet" on Kerry.

(And we ALL know just WHO runs direct mail operations right??)

Here's how they plan to steal it.

In states where the polls are close, they demand recounts, and all of a sudden there's a shitload of absentee ballots for Shrub and Crashcart.

Make no mistake about it, the pugs are trying to "end-run" around the polls.

They know they have problems with their base, so they are coordinating this other "operation".

Okay - I'll open the floor to thoughts on this.

flesh it out a bit and say that something might happen (terrorist attack?) in swing states to prevent people from going to the polls? That would fit into you theory - keep the Dems home - whip out the absentee ballots.

3. Interesting

There's no doubt the GOP has been running "psyops" on America for a long time. 9/11 gave them the perfect cover.

After all of this "terra terra" I don't doubt that theory.

And remember, Rove is the direct mail guy.

We need to keep track of all of these "direct mailings from the Bush campaign"

And we need to do it fast.

5. How would you audit an absentee ballot?
Edited on Thu Sep-02-04 02:40 PM by kentuck
It would be so easy to forge names of those who rec'd ballots...

6. Audit

That's the other thing. In some states, they are comparing signiatures, and if it's off just a little bit, they toss your ballot.

This is happening in Florida right now as we speak.

7. One good thing-at least in Texas, the absentee ballot
time period is NOT until 2 weeks in October, starting in about the middle of the month. I'm assuming other states are similar-so that even if they have write in for the absentee ballots, there is time for them to make their actual decision if their mind is not already made up.

9. Energize the base encourage undecideds not to vote
Someone on Hardball last night said it looked like Bush has given up on persuading undecideds and indepdendents because the polls suggest most of these don't like the way the country is heading. He is bashing Kerry and trying to make him a terrifying alternative so people except the Bush base just won't vote.

11. the talking heads
gave up the GOP game plan............keep talking Kerry down with the voters.......make him look and sound like hes no good and will do this country harm......that way many voters will stay home.....and simply NOT vote.........if they don't want bush or want Kerry.they are banking on a low turnout........IMO these voters if any.........should make a protest vote.......against bush.........
