Pollster.com has the state as a tossup between Obama and McCain, but the governor's race is over for the GOP. Also the Senate race is tightening up but Shaheen still leads.

1. Diageo/Hotline: Obama Surges in Battleground States including NH

An early look at today's Diageo/Hotline tracking poll shows Sen. Barack Obama now holds a double-digit lead in key battleground states.

Among registered voters surveyed in Colorado, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Wisconsin and Nevada, Obama tops McCain 50 to 40%. Just a week ago, Obama led 45% to 42%.

Nationwide, Obama leads 47% to 41%.

2. it's NH. it's not a liberal state. never has been. NH voters

view themselves as ruggedly independent. they recognize that their votes are given a lot of weight. and collectively, they seem to like to surprise.

3. New Hampshirites are all pissed off at the end of the day

from commuting on I-93. They go from their good paying city jobs in Boston (THAT THEY CAN'T GET IN NH) to their income tax free NH havens, and bitch about Mass liberals, Kennedy country, taxes, this, that, and everything. So all pissed off from commuting when they are polled, they naturally go for the mean bastage like McNuts.
