McCain/Palin equals Jabba the Hutt/Jar Jar Binks -- for "Star Wars" fans

John McCain has morphed into Jabba the Hutt.

And, as I've long suspected, Jar Jar Binks was ambitious. Turns out that Jar Jar was Sarah Palin in makeup, a costume, and a ridiculous role that turned out to be George Lucas's worst mistake.

But first, John McCain. Mr. "Straight Talk," "The darling of the press," "The Maverick," and the guy that even some Dems could like, turned out to be Jabba the Hutt. Actually, I'd rather see Jabba the Hutt in the White House than McCain. At least Jabba was only a gangster.

Ahh, but then there's Sara Palin. Would anyone really want to see her a (half) a heartbeat away from the presidency? Jar Jar and Sarah are equally amiable and ignorant. And, placed in a decision-making role, both would be dangerous at the very least and deadly at most.

So let's look at Barak Obama. He may not be a Jedi Knight, but, IMO, he's as close to one as we're going to see for a long, long time.

1. McCain/Palin looks more like Jabba/Leah

with the recent duo-Couric interview. He keeps yanking her neck when she tries to do something; but deep down she wants to kill him...

Barack is like Luke, Biden is Han. Hell yeah.

2. Sarah Palin is Princess Leia.

You'll remember Princess Leia was the prized possession of the giant hairless slug who lived in the desert and ended up choking him to death.
