Tin Foil Hat time - Palin FAILS Debate, sent packing, total disarray with Ballots Nationwide? Theft?
Okay, after reading that Poor Todd, Shadow Govenor, is having second thoughts as poor family is being neglected due to Veep run - some say seeds are being planted for Post Debate where Sarah gets the boot, spends more time with Family, and is IMPEACHED hopefully in Alaska..

BUT, here's a thought I had. If YOU were Rove and wanted to create a scenario that favored the Repigs why wouldn't you:

A) Insert Palin an unknown but with good looks, spunky, etc INTO the game, the day after Obama's soaring speech to capture the Media and downplay that wonderful speech by our great candidate

B) Cause mayhem in the Media, by both complaining about them, and sneaking her around from event to event, playing the Stupid/You're a Sexist if you disagree Card for a while.. THEN,

C) When she totally blows it during a debate, send her packing, AFTER ballots have been printed up, and some Early Ballots have been sent in with both McSame's and Palin's names on them (count them? Not?)

AND then ALL the Ballots Nationwide, in EVERY STATE have to be REPRINTED, REISSUED, and RESTOCKED.. AND all the Computers have to be RESET in every town, principality, city, EVERYWHERE, setting up the whole system for FRAUD when there is no time left to CHECK on all that's going down..

Will we then hear about MANY voting precincts RUNNING OUT of Ballots, not enough were Printed, some machines registering McCAIN/PALIN votes, which STILL MUST BE COUNTED, etc? Maybe there are now DOUBLE COUNTED Ballots, those WITH Palin, and THOSE without? The Numbers are impossible to determine?

Has Rove set up an endgame of mayhem, Confusion, Rife with Fraud?

Okay, Tin Foil hat off now - Somebody talk me down.

1. Man, I had given up drinking!
I'm going to have to start up again to get around what you've laid out here. Early voting has already started.

Is there any precedent for a VP candidate dropping out this late?

4. I'm about ready to start again myself :)
Now I know this sounds nutty, but look at all they've pulled before..

They trim the margins where ever they can, and this has the potential to throw the election into total disarray, which is exactly HOW they steal it..

Who makes the final call on WHAT Ballots are Valid?

We all know how that works too..

7. Why not?
If I was a complete bastard like Rove I would consider it.. I've had a feeling about this pick, like she's a placeholder of some sort, there to breed dissention, it's all they do..

5. You're talking about paper ballots. Most will be machine votes...
Edited on Tue Sep-30-08 06:12 PM by RichGirl
...or touch screen. Once those are set, they don't change them. If she is out and say, Romney is replacement, the ballot still says Palin. That's how it goes. There's a dealine after which nothing can be changed. It has happened in election. I think one election had a dead man on the ballot.

P.S. I think the dead man won.

8. Granted
and dead people and DOGS have voted in Chicago as well..

BUT, they DO change the machines, and right on up to and Including the DAY of the election... as in precinct workers saying, "Who's THAT guy?" when someone from say, DIEBOLD comes in and swaps out hard drives, etc.

I spend a year making a film about electronic voting before people were talking about it all that much - my wife interviewed Gov Siegelman, where 6500 votes were moved electronically from HIS Column to Riley's, and it was blamed on a lightning strike IN an area that doesn't HAVE 6500 voters.

Riley and pals SHUT DOWN the courthouse, kicked out all the media and precinct captains, EVERYONE BUT Republicans, in the dead of night and MOVED those votes right there and then..

Seen the Primordial Electronic vote Fraud scenario up close and personal, and believe me ANYTHING can happen. :)

But you make a good point, a Vote for McCain Palin is a Vote for McCain Romney I suppose..

9. Ummm... Here's what you don't seem to get...

First, the ballot laws in all 50 states are their own creatures.

In many states - it doesn't even matter if a candidate dies - they don't change the ballot.

For example in Nevada, they will post a notice at the poll stating that "Candidate X is dead", but the ballot, once it is fixed by the statutory cutoff for that state, is the ballot. Period. End of story.

At this point in time, it is too late in most states to even change a candidate on the ballot.

Now, what happens to those votes? Again, it depends on what state you are talking about.

But, no, there is no way to throw an election into "chaos", even if a candidate is abducted by aliens.

10. Doesn't preclude them dumping Palin then
And some folks say That won't happen..

Who could have forseen a Total Moron "winning" the white house, and someone Even WORSE coming down the pike?

Anything is possible in this game, if it can happen then it will.

Butterfly Ballots anyone?

11. well to begin with on November 4th you are not voting for McCain/Palin
you are voting for electors put up by the Republican Party.

The actual election of the President is later when the electors formally vote for the President and Vice President.

The names on the ballot are therefore, only a symbolic representation of who you think the electors are going to vote for and not a vote for those folks at all.

til his wifeymoose gets back to AK for good..which will be by midnight on election night.

The flight will take a few hours longer than that, unless the Alaska National Guard has an SST or something. :P

13. Nobody casts a vote for president or VP
You vote for the electors pledged to the ticket. Those folks aren't going to change. They'd simply vote for Romney/Ridge/Giuliani/Pawlenty/whoever when the time came to cast their votes.

15. We are actual not voting for the candidates but a slate of electors sponsored by the candidate. It's
the electoral college that actually votes for the candidate. Long story short no problem.
