Actual journalism breaks out! CBS Evening News notes Cheney votes!
Quickie rehash of one point made in Zell Miller's rant last night, about Kerry voting for cuts for certain weapons systems. Then they flashed a clip of Cheney talking about the "need to cut the budget" and said, (paraphrased) "What WASN'T said is that Cheney not only voted for the SAME defense cuts, he voted for even MORE cuts!"

Corporate news pointing out the truth -- how amazing is THAT?!?

4. ABC did the same...
i was shocked. they even pointed out Cheneys comment about Kerry would get the UN permission before deploying troups - Kerry said that in 1971 after Vietnam.

17. Thanks -- you just reminded of the other part of their report!

CBS/Dan Rather also deconstructed another point from the repug attack, about Kerry (paraphrasing) "asking for permission from the UN" to fight a war.

Dan Rather then said that these attacks were ignoring what else Kerry has said, then played a clip from Kerry's DNC speech where he said, "Let there be no mistake: I will never hesitate to use force when it is required. Any attack will be met with a swift and a certain response. I will never give any nation or any institution a veto over our national security."

Again, this just really amazes me -- that CBS/Dan Rather actually made the effort to highlight the TRUTH!

5. CBS is owned by Viacom
which also has the Howard Stern show.. They are one of the least likely to totally fall in line with the reich wing bush media..

Even though I've been messaging them all using various screen names and telling them what palace eunuchs they are for their biased presentations. Love that media link as it makes it so easy and fun.

18. Never Be WIthout Your Media Link My Friend
http://congress.org/congressorg/dbq/media/

The media have less courage than AWOL. Noise works. They always bend, but often slowly. More hands make lighter work and quicken the process.

Remember, most voters get news from their local papers and TV, not from the national wire services. THEY ARE THE TARGET

16. Let's hope it's a contagious strain!
I'd like to see a full-blown journalism epidemic. Think of it: Actual journalism available on TV and in newspapers far and wide!

What would we tell the children? :P

21. Me too.

I don't have cable, so network news and PBS are my only choices. My local CBS affiliate is definitely the least snarky and most thoughtful news organization, so my evening news viewing begins with the local broadcast, then the national CBS Evening News, then over to PBS for the NewsHour (where, more often than not, I find myself enraged at the conservative slant  ).

20. Let the media know when they do something right!
A little encouragement might let them know some people appreciate accurate investigative journalism.
