He's welcomed by overwhelming applause, followed by a heartbreakingly (now) poignant speech about how successful his first 4 years were. OMG, I am so depressed at what has happened to our country since Big Dog left office. Kerry just has to win this thing.

4. They had part of his horrid Dukakis nomination speech
in 1988 on MSNBC.com this morning, and even that made me remember how great things were in this country until a few years ago.

If you look at Clinton's time in office, they were absolutely fabulous years to be an American. And all you got out of it was bile, froth, and rage from right wingers who were too blinded by partisanship to recognize everything that was going right with the country. Those same people are now the ones supporting Bush, despite everything that has gone wrong in his time on the job. Allowing such people to be considered the "patriotic" wing of this country is an affront to the very word "patriot."

5. Instead of patriotic, I call them certifiably insane.
What else could creat such a self-defeating mindset?
