Bush seemed a little humble tonight ...

Yeah, it's certainly a nice thing to see. We would've liked to see some of it BEFORE tonight.

BTW, in TEXAS, walking is putting one foot in front of the other. Not swinging your shoulders.

1. Bullshit. He's an arrogant little twit.
He isn't humble. He fakes it, but you can see he's not when he stands there and smirks at his own words.

4. This was the plan

Denigrate Kerry all week with complete lies and hateful vitriol and then Resident AssMonkey comes in and rolls out the "compassionate conservative" line.

I am pleased that he didn't mention the environment although for a while there I was thinking he might.

11. Reminds of the benediction ...

The benediction really freaked me out. The Bishop talked about all the people enjoying the economic recovery.

When a man of cloth can't even play it straight, you KNOW there is a problem.

6. It's an act. Doesn't want to seem arrogant for a couple of months
before election day, but he is arrogant.

10. He can play humble when he wants to...

but it's just an act. I remember watching his speech at the 2000 RNC convention and he seemed so sincere, and it was scary, because I could have been taken in if I didn't know he was lying.

He did one other speech before the war that was so sincere, saying something like he would not lead us to war if he didn't have a good reason and to trust him or some such blather, but once again, I knew the fuck was lying. I even said to myself, 'If this guy can be this sincere and a few days later does the opposite like I know he will, he is the most evil human being I've ever experienced during my time on this planet.' Sure enough.

He's the kind of person who can bring himself to tears at will and then pull the rug out from under you and laugh at your pain. That's just evil. A classic sociopath. If I believed in fairy tales, I would be absolutely convinced he was the antiChrist.
