NOW the campaign begins
for everybody obsessing over every little niggling detail of the polls and the speeches and the ads and the fundraising....

None of it has mattered to any great degree.

Both conventions are over, and it is now September. The REAL campaign now begins. Summer vacations are over, kids are back in school, life is back to normal, and now people start paying attention.

The war-time president is polling at about 46%, and this after a month of third-party ads attacking Kerry. That is a terrible number for Bush - just godawful.

We're about to see $50 million in Kerry ads and the debates. It's gonna heat up, and it's gonna be VERY nasty. Bush can't attract any new voters, so his only hope is to get his hardcore base out to the polls and trying to depress Kerry's turnout. The way to do this is to run an incredibly ugly campaign of lies and smears. Fasten your seatbelts.

1. Just started on CSPAN2
You left out the debates....when the boy-king has to face Kerry alone and without a teleprompter and prepared speech to rely on.

3. My bad.....
JK is on a tear now. This is what a real President sounds like. Amazing what intelligence, values, and conviction can bring to this country.
