Kerry does not have my vote in November, and he never did.
Did that grab your attention? :)

I will miss voting in this election by a matter of days due to my birthday :(

I wish very much that I could vote for this great candidate and American hero this year, but alas... the calendar has screwed me. So I'm asking all of you here to try and win one more voter to Kerry's side for my sake, and for the sake of all us youth out here who *are* paying attention and you *do* care but who will still be too young to vote for Kerry. Give us the chance to re-elect him in 2008.

Nothing would make me happier.

)And I bet you thought you were in for a flame-fest ;) )

3. that sucks
but you can do your part by volunteering and winning votes. I got started in politics when I was 12 years old. You can make such a huge difference.

13. I'm trying, friend.
I think I've contributed to winning over one of my friends who will be voting to vote Kerry (he says he's GOP, but he just hasn't realized what a liberal he is, seriously). I'll be working on some of my "I'm too cool to vote" friends closer to the election. I have other pals who may physically drag them to the polls.

I've persuaded my parents to donate as well.

15. My daughter will be 17...
but is begging her friends to vote for Kerry. Apparently, she tells them to do it for her sake, since she doesn't want to hear her mother rant about Bush every day again for the next 4 years. Kinda sad...but she was kidding. However, I tell her they need to do it for their sakes.

17. In 1988
I missed turning 18 in time for the election by just a few weeks.

I was bummed. But because I knew I wasn't going to be able to vote, I didn't bother paying much attention.

So I salute you for doing more than I did at this age. Blame it on having just ended eight years of that Reagan guy. I was VERY complacent.

18. That really sucks...
Not your post, the fact that you're not going to be able to vote in this, the most important election of our lives.
But your title is technically inaccurate, becuase he does have your vote.
You unfortunately have to wait 4 years.
Trust me, I will do everything I can to give you that chance in 2008.

20. bummer rocky, but sounds like you are in colorado
adn man there is a lot of stuff that you can do there. go after the coors guy running for senate. more than anything, well except getting bush out, and maybe de lay too here in texas, i dont want that coors guy to win

talking to 9 year old today, he really wants to vote too and doesnt think it is fair. he has probably investigated adn listened and thought and knows more than a lot of adults that are going to vote. he is ready for 18, says cause in his life he has this experience with bush, has taught him how important his vote is

so cool, good to hear you

you yung'uns and your foolin' around...

I think it's be a good idea to start a Vote For list. Those of us old enough to vote will do so in honor of one of our young Democrats that aren't of age yet...

Now no more scaring the old people :)

24. I missed the chance to vote for Carter by months.
My first vote for US President was for Walter Mondale/Geraldine Ferraro vs none other than Reagan/Bush '84.

Mondale ran logical circles around Reagan at the debate, and in my young, ideological mind, I thought he couldn't lose!

Then Reagan said "there he goes again," and the pundits spent the rest of the night creaming, and calling Ronnie "the great communicator."

I didn't vote for a winner until Clinton.

26. You can still work for Kerry - I worked for the last JFK when
I was 17. I never will forget working at the poll on that cold November day, passing out Dem. sample ballots and wearing a Kennedy hat. My Repug counterpart came in a brand new Cadillac and sat in it all day to keep warm, only emerging when voters came by.

30. Don't pass the burden of doing something off to others...
Most campaign organizations will happily take a 17 year old. Go out, make phone calls, canvass, find someone to cast a Kerry vote for you (or multiple someones)...
Always have courage in your convictions and act on them.

Same thing. In fact that would be a great drive for Get out the vote. Young folks not able to vote like this person and may get caught up in a draft and have their parent vote their will because of Iraq. Even if the person was gonna vote Bush...They may swing for their kid ! What do you think?
