DEBATES: John Kerry vs.... Jim Baker?????
Yes, THAT Jim Baker. Mr. Fix-it. George H. W. Bush's right hand man.

:wtf:

I SWEAR I heard this on CBS News Wednesday morning. It was slipped in with other news about the RNC. The reporter said that the Kerry and Bush campaigns have agreed to 1 VP candidate debate and 3 Presidential Debates, 2 of which are to feature Sen. Kerry and former Secretary of State Jim Baker. The final one will be between Kerry and Bush.

I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I checked online yesterday and today looking for news about it, and could find nothing. Did my ears deceive me, or did anyone else hear the same thing?

This is very big news, if it is indeed true. But who can believe the corporatized press these days?

1. This can't be true

If it is I guarantee a Kerry victory by 20%.

This would be the most cowardly thing in the history of the English speaking world.

I can't believe this story until I see it in neon lights. It's simply too unreal.

3. I swear I heard it
It was 10:00am Wednesday morning on the CBS Radio News update. But they slipped it in so fast, it wasn't even 5 seconds.

2. That would be totally preposterous
How the hell would that have anything to do with the election? Maybe Borscht has a vacation planned?

6. That's what I said, too
But again, I've heard or seen nothing more supporting it anywhere. Maybe it was a slip?

10. Guess I misheard the news?
It caught me off guard, so it sounded like the reporter was saying that Kerry agreed to a debate with Jim Baker. Maybe he actually said that the Kerry campaign was negotiating with Jim Baker for the Bush campaign?
Or something like that.

13. Heard something funny today about this
2 guys were talking politics in this office I was in, and one guy said, "You will know that the Republicans are really on the ropes when you hear that they've brought Jim Baker in. Mark my words, if you hear that Baker's helping them, they're desperate."

I don't think he'd heard the news about Baker being the debate negotiator. Cracked me up.
