Fired up, and finally ready to go-
Things for me, politically, have been pretty bleak since January 30, and then a little over a month ago it got even more bleak, if that's possible. But lately, things are starting to turn around, and I find myself smiling at strange moments for no real reason at all. The other day I realized after a few minutes I was humming the Stevie Wonder classic "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" to myself. Yesterday I pulled up behind someone with an Obama bumper sticker on their car and the next thing I know I'm beeping and waving the peace sign at their rear view mirror.

Then today, I find out my economically depressed home town in Ca has not just one, but two, count em, two Obama offices. Manned exclusively by volunteers and from the looks of things, these people are loving life right now. I'll admit not being as in touch as I should have been with the campaign, and being in Ca can lead to apathy because we are always so reliably blue. But now I've been given a reason to really get off my ass and I can't wait.

When I walked into the office, a big space on a very busy avenue with lots of signs out front, I was greeted by 7 very upbeat volunteers who were phone banking Ohio and New Mexico. I was thrilled to be there, and to be around committed and dedicated people once more. I signed up, of course, and I'll be phone banking and working the office everyday til the election. I feel fired up, and ready to go.

Sorry to everyone if I got to the party a bit late, but I'm here now, and ready to dance.

Obama was my second choice, but I don't see it like that any more. Now he's not just my only choice, he's my best choice. After voting against someone in every election since 78, I can't begin to tell you how good it feels to finally vote for someone. He has run an impecible campaign and I will vote for that man with great pride.

And one more thing, lawn signs were only 5 bucks, bumper stickers were only a buck... twelve houses on my street were given Obama lawn sign if they wanted one today, (8 houses actually said yes) and everyone that wanted a bumper sticker got one. No I couldn't afford it, and I've been burned giving money to politicians before, but I believe it was worth it for this election.

You can count on our electoral votes, and now you can count on me working as hard as I can in Central Ca for Obama.

1. Anyone? It hurts more to kick yourself than when someone else does it.

13. It's our gain, rocky.
And part of the groundswell that will send John McCain packing on Nov. 4th.

10. I'm so happy you're on board 100 percent!
Obama was my first choice in the primaries, so I'm thrilled he's the Democratic nominee. I'm feeling really good about this election year. And I agree -- it feels GREAT to vote FOR someone instead of against someone for a change.

12. He was a close second for me.
I did a lot of work for the Edwards campaign in Iowa, Nevada and California, and I feel every bit as good voting for Obama as I would have voting for John.
