here's what the smears are really about...
they're trying to avoid the embarrassment of a landslide Obama victory by making a last ditch effort to peel off a few undecideds. and on that last score, I dont think they'll even be able to do that.

4. I also think the ayers stuff is to validate their right wing views, because losing an election
surely doesn't validate them. and I'm mostly thinking of the hannityites and ditto heads.

2. Yep. But in the process, they look so inept. When was the last time
the McBush campaign honestly had a fix, for anything, troubling this country?

3. I hope they are embarrassing their base...
And their base peels off and votes for Barr. I doubt they'd go for Obama... though they would be wise and welcome!

5. Even though he's black, even tough he might be a Muslim, even though he has no expeirience...
People see that Obama is the quintessential Nice Guy.

People don't like it when some random asshole talks shit about a Nice Guy.

6. Absolutely...and McCain wants to distract from the economy
McCain has nothing left but to change the subject and go negative. The country is in trouble and the American people aren’t buying the McCain campaign’s attacks and smears.

7. Remember that mandate Bush thought he had?

Imagine what a real landslide would mean for pushing through the reforms Obama wants.

The GOP knows they wouldnt be able to push back against it, and that scares them.
