Nightly News Roundup - Obama Up, McCrypt Down and Desperate

News programs led with continued Wall Street turmoil and efforts to ease the credit crisis. Politics was next, after about 8 minutes.

Shows focused on the day’s personal attacks, highlighting McCain’s “withering” speech in Albuquerque and Palin’s continued Ayers assault. Mentioned less prominently Obama’s web video about McCain and the Keating Five. ABC suggested Obama got the better of the day, saying he “was having none of” McCain’s attacks and showing him speaking about the economy and health care. NBC raised the possibility of the attacks backfiring against McCain. ABC’s Stephanopoulos and CBS’ Greenfield both suggested the struggling Republicans have few other options than to attack Obama personally. Greenfield: “It’s the only card they’ve got.” ABC report suggested Obama is more successfully wooing Ohio working-class voters. CBS reported on tough new voter registration law in Florida.

1. It didn't work.
This was supposed to be the new and slimy diversion from the economy and Obama's busting the race open. If they didn't succeed on Day One, they didn't succeed.

Now, which mcPOW is going to show up to the debate?

3. Personal attacks just increase Obama's donations. Idiot McLame and Drillbilly Palin don't get it.
They're helping Obama, not hurting.

In order to beat Obama, they'll have to reassure the public. Everything they're doing is making the public less sure of McCancer.
