Poll: Women say Clinton a better leader and mother than Palin by wide margin
From the NY Daily News:

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/2008/10/06/2008-10-06_poll_women_say_hillary_clinton_makes_a_b.html

"Hillary Clinton may not have won the Democratic nomination, but she appears to have won the hearts of American women," said pollster Mickey Blum of Blum & Weprin Associates. "Palin appeals to a much smaller group."

Nearly three times as many women think Clinton would do a better job dealing with the economy and with foreign leaders, and women are twice as likely to say they trust Clinton than Palin.

Clinton even beats Palin, a mother of five, in the parenting department - 35% think Clinton has been a better mother, compared to 24% who picked Palin.

"I think there is probably a Chelsea factor there," said Shezoom.com CEO Stacey Artandi, noting that many voters see the Clinton's 28-year-old daughter as a poised young woman "who is very much a reflection of Hillary."

1. Well of course. There's no comparison whatsoever.
Edited on Mon Oct-06-08 08:37 PM by Harvey Korman
Any comparison between them is an insult to Hillary, to her supporters and to the intelligence of the larger public.

3. It IS a real no-shitter, but you can't outguess some of these things.
I'm pretty impressed Chelsea is as normal as she is.

7. my mom has changed her mind about Failin.
At first she say saying, "Oh, how exciting! This will make the election interesting!"

Today she remarked, "Oh I really don't think much of her at all." (after the debate) Now my mom doesn't even want to vote for McLame anymore, with or without his veep pick. I think a lot of conservatives are going to take a pass. My mom is going to look at third party candidates and see if there are any she likes.

I said, "Well you could vote for Obama--he's nice!" She laughed, as if she kind of wished she could bring herself to do something as revolutionary as vote for a Democrat.

8. Fortunately, women go into the voting booth and do all sorts of things they don't admit.
That's why absentee voting isn't cool. It's not private.

Fingers crossed your Maternal Unit does this.

18. I will keep hoping!
For her, voting for Obama would have to be a well-guarded secret, given my dad's super-partisan position as a conservative. All around him people are defecting though--his sister, his son, his neighbor. And me, his daughter 16 years ago. To him, the world is going to hell. To me, the light is dawning!

9. I nearly had a cow when I saw that Palin allowed her little girl to carry the baby
across the stage. Not very motherly, if you ask me. There are many times that the kids look after the baby not either of the parents.

11. I don't regularly cross paths with a soul that I wouldn't see as
an upgrade over Palin. Its really that bad.

Comparing this crackpot to Senator Clinton is like contrasting a galaxy to an amoeba.

21. That's pretty damn obvious but it's good to see that others see it
that way, too. I guess Rovian tactics didn't work as well as we had feared. Those few idiots are so loud and obnoxious that sometimes they drown out the intelligent voices.

Thank you Mookie for sharing this information with us. Made me tear up. And it also gave me more hope and pride in the women of America in general.

As an aside, I had better stay away from sappy commercials today. I seem to be tearing up at the least bit of good news. Fucking hormones. Grrr.
