Is Sarah Palin positioning for 2012?
I really think she knows McCain is going to lose, and was looking ahead when McCain pulled out of Michigan and Palin openly said she disagreed with her decision and would love to go back. She is hoping to keep good faith with the people of MI for 2012. I'm convinced her appearance at the VP debate was less about damage control, and more about looking as a viable candidate for '012.

Anybody else getting the vibe that Gov. Palin is working the spotlight to get the nod in 2012?

Hey, I'm all for it. President Obama will defeat her like Clinton did with Dole in 1996.

PALIN 2012!!! Because we don't need just four years to fix this mess, we need eight--and she as the nominee in 2012 will lose and that gives us eight!

27. Palin is being controlled by McCain handlers.
She's being used exactly the way the campaign wants to use her, as an attack dog. Her lamenting leaving Michigan proves very little. To assume that Palin will be allowed to pursue her own agenda overlooks how brutal the McCain campaign now is in savaging Obama. It's a scorched earth campaign. To say Palin is just pursuing her own agenda ignores this. She will also probably continue to get away with her savagery because the Obama campaign is still being too polite with her and McCain.

6. so is she going to avoid debating and giving interviews throughout the Primary season
does she know how long the Primary season is ? and how many debates are held ? and in a Primary and places like Iowa, NH, SC etc the voters there demand the candidates answer questions.

7. Only one problem...
When you run for president - you have these - um - primaries where you have to talk to reporters, participate in debates within your own party, and convince voters you have some - um - qualifications for the job... Somehow I just don't see that working out for the one term governor of Alaska.

She's got the guts and the motive to do it. She's already challenging his decisions. She's got the backing of the neo-cons and the fundies.

That's my prediction.

18. I read the Nation and it is interesting about her.
You get the feeling she is ready to walk on any one to get up in the world. I do think she will have to take the blame if McCain does not win. After all does any one think McCain will take the blame? One problem with that. I do not think she will do it with grace. That it self will be interesting. I can see the little smile on Cindie McCain's face already.

Ultra-Secretive Right-Wing Group Met In Minn. To Vet Palin
Posted by DogPoundPup on Mon Sep-01-08 11:17 AM

Last week, while the media focused almost obsessively on the DNC's spectacle in Denver, the country's most influential conservatives met quietly at a hotel in downtown Minneapolis to get to know Sarah Palin. The assembled were members of the Council for National Policy, an ultra-secretive cabal that networks wealthy right-wing donors together with top conservative operatives to plan long-term movement strategy.

CNP members have included Tony Perkins, James Dobson, Grover Norquist, Tim LaHaye and Paul Weyrich. At a secret 2000 meeting of the CNP, George W. Bush promised to nominate only pro-life judges; in 2004, then-Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist told the group, "The destiny of the nation is on the shoulders of the conservative movement." This year, thanks to Sarah Palin's selection, the movement may have finally aligned itself behind the campaign of John McCain.

Though Dobson and Perkins reportedly attended the recent CNP meeting in Minneapolis, a full roster of guests would be nearly impossible to require. The CNP deliberately operates below the radar, going to excessive lengths to obscure its activities. According to official CNP policy, "The media should not know when or where we meet or who takes part in our programs before or after a meeting." Thus the CNP's Minneapolis gathering was free of reporters.
<snip>
The members of the Council for National Policy are the hidden hand behind McCain's Palin pick. With her selection, the Republican nominee is suddenly -- and unexpectedly -- assured of the support of a movement that once opposed his candidacy with all its might. Case in point: while Dobson once said he could "never" vote for McCain, he issued a statement last week hailing Palin as an "outstanding" choice. If Dobson's enthusiasm for Palin is any indication, he may soon emerge from his bunker in Colorado Springs to endorse McCain, providing the Republican nominee with the backing of the Christian right's single most influential figure.

Not a smart move for 2012. Hillary is viable for 2012. Even though she campaigns hard for Obama, she doesn't do anything that further polarizes people against her.

The end is nigh in this apocalyptic disaster film that mixes Christian values, Mayan mythology, and scientific theories about polar shifts. When four strangers journey into Mexico in 2012, they are drawn into ancient mysteries that foretell the coming of the End Times.

I think Sarah's going down in defeat, and may even face impeachment back home in the Republic of Alaska.

A year or two from now, we may not remember her name. The GOP might be willing to give a loser another shot, but not a ludicrous one.
