Ohio Republican Party Called me to tell me to "Expect my Absentee Ballot by mail"

Has any other buckeyes recieved the strange phone call i got from the Ohio Republican party telling me to expect my absentee ballot in the mail?
Really weird and illegal I believe.

However this is not the first one of these, about a month ago John McCain campaign called to inform me that my Absentee ballot should arrive in the mail. I have yet to recieve the actual ballot and plan to immediately turn it into the BOE to see if its legal.

I really do believe the early voting going on here in Ohio will benefit Obama for sure. All thanks to our great Democratic Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner people who dont usually vote because of their hectic schedule now have 1 month to vote-what a great idea!!!

My question is is there anyway to tell who is leading in the number of people that has voted thus far? Maybe Any Exit Polling going on?

That sounds pretty fucking fishy to me, I'd expect it to be a topic worthy of it's own post.

Let's see what others say, but if you got a call that said that from Republicans (who have access to voter lists for both parties) and your a registered Democrat, then it sounds like a scam and you should report it to the board of elections, the democratic party, and write to some newspapers, IMHO.

I hope you and others who have received such calls take action. If I had gotten these calls, I wouldn't be complacent and expect others to call them on this trick, I'd take the time to let the BOE and local Democratic office know about it, and I'd post it on the barackobama blog.

We can't afford to lose from cheaters, and we can't afford, even if we win, to let this crap go unpunished.

The callers are messing with people's heads; what they are doing will result in vote-suppression while people wait for their absentee ballots that they didn't ask for; and it is illegal.

getting word around to people about unpatriotic voter suppression tactics like this:

1) So they get to the polls and vote and don't get fooled out of it
2) So people can talk amongst themselves and see what fucking assholes the other side really are

...Brunner just lost a court fight over them, in fact.

And no, there's no way to track absentee ballot votes until the count on Election Night.
