Media Bias: Equating a 17 year old direct scandal with a 40 year old guilt by association
Edited on Tue Oct-07-08 12:53 AM by FrenchieCat
This is why I complain about the media all of the time.

Today, the Corporate media showed its true colors. William Ayers, an infamous individual from the Vietnam era, dating back 40 years ago, who had tenuous links, at best, to Barack Obama, is allowed to be discussed at length....as though whatever Ayers did 40 years ago should reflect directly on Barack Obama.

To make things worse, the issue had been brought up before, and per documentation by media accounts during the primaries, those links had already been put to bed as being no there, there. However, today, that linking of Ayers via guilt by association was revived and discussed at length on just about every network news show....with footage shown over and over again of Palin running her mouth to a gathered lynch Mob who were shouting their hate filled reactions such as "Kill Him"!

Meanwhile, a financial scandal from the early 90s, a mere 17 years ago, when John McCain was 58 and a Senator, in where he was DIRECTLY involved in ethics questions is raised only as an accessory to the Ayers story. McCain, who was publicly rebuked by the senate for demonstrating "Bad judgment" in that banking scandal (really the last scandal prior to this one) labeled the biggest bail out in American History until now, is brushed aside and labeled old. It's only purpose, as used by the media, was to imply that Barack Obama was doing some smearing of his own....but the scandal itself was not explained at all...besides a quick, he was cleared (which didn't really work out that way). The scandal of course is directly relevant to current events that have been happening with the Investment Banking failures.

The plain truth is that these two issues were not at all similar, and oddly enough, the one that got the brunt of attention was the recycled non financial guilt by flimsy association aimed at Barack Obama.

And mind you, this does not include the fact that this Audit of Barack Obama's fundraising as raised by the RNC was also covered, although nothing was said of the fact that it is the McCain campaign that has had this problem in the past, and that problem has not yet been resolved.

So when someone tells me that the media is not Biased toward McCain, they are going to have to explain themselves better.

So when someone tells me that the media is not Biased. I'm just gonna say, STFU, cause it means that you don't know what you are talking about.

1. CNN was promoting the idea that Obama is a terrorist sympathizer.
I was sooooo pissed I could hardly see straight.

That person masquerading as a report was a complete JOKE.

2. Calling Weather Underground "terrorist" is just propaganda anyway.
Most of the stuff they did was glorified, politically motivated vandalism. Meanwhile, various right-wingers, such as abortion clinic bombers, Timothy McVeigh, etc, actually have intentionally killed a large number of people with terrorist attacks. Corporate media would never point out that obvious fact during an election though, and that right-wing terrorists would prefer that McCain (or Palin) wins the election.

A related propaganda slogan is the "eco-terrorism" label thrown at people who vandalize SUVs and other large gas-guzzling vehicles for polluting the environment.

3. The word terrorist is used in this sense...
to attempt to tie Obama to Islamic extremists, not to left wing American activists. They know damn well what they are doing with this. They've already attacked him as being a terrorist even without any "guilt by association" type of crap, simply because of his name and the fact that he's black.

4. They are talking to themselves and have been since
the two rock stars took stage. They can put two out there, but "we the people" choose out of the two. And this is where we stand, with Obama still climbing in the polls, because "the people" are no longer listening to MSM.

5. I just saw the AC360 story on Ayers and I could've sworn I was watching Fox News
They sure as hell better show the Keating stuff to balance that outrage.
